Great series. I would like to see sampling. Loading, direct, loops and slices and best practices. That’s the dark arts for the ESX-1.

It's easier than maths. But ... once you get it, the sample are great sounding. (I recommd to let a lil millitimes between "sample attack" and real attack (on drum snds in particular. It gives a groovr.

Hey great video. I know it is so long ago since you posted this series but it would be great if you could do the full Housekeeping video for the remaining section then show how to integrate the SX with other machines to show how it fits in work flow. Your videos are just super clear and easy to follow. You have help me get going on my SX (which I love)

Excellent series thank you so much. Would love more on the Slice & Stretch if you get time. One thing though, aren’t all the FX global, not just the FX Chain? I understand different parts can be set to go to different Fx slots, but there are only 3 global Fx slots right, and the Fx parameters can’t be unique for each part can they?

This series of videos has been extremely useful. Thank you for taking the time to do them. If you do find the time to do a video on housekeeping (sample edit / part edit) and on managing/loading samples that would be massively appreciated. One question I have in particular is about default pot positions. Do you have any tips/suggestions on that? e.g. where do you leave the level pot by default/do you leave it at 12:00 so you've got room to add extra volume for each part? I guess this question links into the general housekeeping stuff. Thanks again.

Hey Barney, thanks for watching the vids, glad they've proven useful! I've had a few requests for some housekeeping stuff including sample loading and management, so I'll do a video for that when I get chance. Regarding your question about default pot positions - it can depend upon the parameter you are using, but for volume/level - I'd agree that anywhere between 12 - 2 o clock is usually good so that you have a little bit of headroom. It can become a little more tricky if you're using it during a performance, as each part has it's own volume but they are all controlled by the same pot, meaning that the volumes can jump around when you are adjusting multiple parts. The value scaling isn't great on this machine, so the levels can just jump from being very quiet to very loud (or vice versa) if you're not careful!

Hi mark... oh you' re right 100%_____ But yeah let me tell ya that the users manual is a killer. No problem.... I do not play the oldskool boy, but coming from w30, ensoniqs and stuff like s900.... oh the esx1 is the dream. One track is one shot one kill. The rest is production. And i thank aaron axrxn, leon du star, daniel klerr (snowmetal)_ Oh yes guys i thank you. (And the great italian big hearted one too) What is your beats and stuff like? ....i mean. ... i produce Chicago Juke house and """trappp"""" with esx1. Track per track. Then.... We know the rest... Make good music brother

Would I be able to run a synth through it and use the modulation/filter parts with the synth? And what about the arpeggiator?
@kkjunker6 жыл бұрын
Yeah you can run another synth through the audio input and then use the filter and modulation as normal. The only thing you can't modulate on an external sound source is the pitch. That also means that the arpeggiator will also only act as a gate and won't move the pitch of the external sound.
