A clarification about the RCA connections: I know that RCA is standard on turntables but since this doesn’t need to be used with a mixer, I would’ve loved 1/4” jacks as an additional option. Or just a 1/4” headphone output. This can be hooked up to any sampler or audio interface where rca connections are rare. This is not a huge thing but I’m getting a lot of questions about it. ❤

The on board FX and looper+portability sold me on my pre-order. RCA doesn’t bother me personally. I can’t wait to sample with this, build a dope loop even before it hits my SP 404. Thanks for the info.☮️

I think the reason they went with RCA outputs is because it's technically a turntable and most turntables, like my Reloop 7000mk2s, use RCA outputs. It's pretty standard as I'm sure you already know.

Super on point, not really shopping for a new record player in that pricerange, but I definitely love to check out cool stuff like this to stay in touch with my roots. Adding a stop start might be as simple as snipping the right wires, and soldering on a switch, however it will mess up the clean esthetics by drilling a hole and cramming some random switch on there. I love the modified look on my equipment, however I agree that they could have used some of those switches to make it more functional from the get go. Like having the option of patching the input in after the preamp, so it could use the effects or something like that would be a nice move that would make that pricetag make more sense to those just starting up, if it doubled as a little effects box too.

As a scratch dj this just feels like it was made for mixing djs and the scratching part was an afterthought. They are trying to market this as an all in one solution but there are already better options on the market and they are less expensive... You can kinda tell this was designed by people who have no idea about portablism. Certainly modding could fix some of these issues, but why bother when there already have the Reloop Spin, Pt01 Scratch and Stanton STX. All of which are better designed for turntablists and scratch djs.
@AccurateBeats9 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t consider myself to be a scratch dj or heavily into portablism but this is a better product for me than Reloop spin. Modders are gonna mod and with mods - it’s a whole different ball park. I’d love to see someone making the perfect portable turntable at an accessible price point but that doesn’t seem realistic anymore.
@chubbyboy22429 күн бұрын
@@AccurateBeats Its not necessarily a bad product, its just not well designed for scratching. Would make more sense to market it for portable mix djing or just vinyl digging on the go...

This is something I completely failed to mention... I find the audio quality of this one to be better and richer on general. Definitely, but it’s great to see another portable turntable for scratching. So far we had Reloop, Numark and Stanton beside Omni. The Native Instruments Z1 MK2 is compact, it doesn't take batteries however the desk space is saves will be great and you could set up 2 and it wouldn't even take less then half the space of Native Instruments -Traktor S2's and S4's, Not sure on the price of this yet and no info on Korgs Website. I'm happy with my N.I Traktor S2's, but if I ever want more space in future the N.I Z1 MK2's would be nice and afforable. I'd be swapping turn table style for pushing drum pads, guess I could get used to that. With this I can see the portabillity been a factor you are paying for, because at that price point if portabillity didn't matter you'd get x2 Audio Technica DJ Decks or x1 Technics Turntable.
@habitat29909 күн бұрын
Looks great as long you want a left deck and cut with your right hand. If you cut with your left not so much. The flip around solution seems awkward. It also says in fine print on the Korg website that you are gonna have to solder it in to work. FXs are kool but I would be running this into my sp 404 anyway which has what more FXs and also loops. I think I will stick with my Omni. Omni also does DVS

Great video. I currently have a Numark PT-01 and Reloop Spin. they're OK for practicing or adding little cuts to tracks, but not actual DJing. I had hoped the Handytraxx would be the first portable that's really gig worthy...like you could mix a normal DJ set without needing anything else, using the looper as a second deck. Ultimately, I think Korg's design choices (no stop button!?!?) plus implementation for the looper/FX misses the mark. Shame. That's a missed opportunity to move portablism beyond 60-second practice videos.
