Thank you so much for this video !!! helped me a lot !! As a Korg Lover, I really dislike its difficult level even to just do simple tasks, doesn't matter if it's an entry level or professional keyboard. It's difficult to realize even basic functions on our own, we have to either get the Manuel or watch helpful videos like yours. On the other hand, Yamaha keyboards are so intuitive ! It doesn't matter if you play a $40 toy keyboard or its famous $6,000 Kenos keyboard, they are so intuitive and easy go get hands on. I remember when Genos came out some local music store had on on display and without having ever played a Yamaha arranger keyboard I was able to do it without any difficulty, As I was playing I was able to figure out how many functions.

Good morning Jeremy See. Congratulations on his great contribution to this keyboard community. Immediately I want to buy a keyboard and I am in doubt if this will solve my needs or would it be another. I am Spanish and I want it to play with piano sounds, with layer, split function, sounds of choral voices and ecclesiastical organs. I don't have much money, this is for € 450 ($ 550). I have never played the keyboard. With weighted keys I don't want it; since I will also use it as an organ. I would not like to be forced with the theme of the polyphony notes. Thank you so much for everything.

Jeremy! Thank you so much for all of your insight into arranger keyboards! I have watched about the Yamaha PSR SX900, 700, 600 and am really interested in the Korg i3 due to the ability to tweek the arrangement styles directly from the buttons on the keyboard and the recording to USB stick! Your videos on the i3 really showed it off as to what it can do and sound like. I own a Yamaha PSR730, bought new in 1998. It is just now starting to glitch on the computer programming and the keys are starting to clack - I know I need to retire it. I can tweek the entire arrangement from the buttons below the huge 7" screen. It actually sounds great even with its 32 polytomy! The only board that directly compares to it is the i3. (Wish the i3 had 128 poly.) To add the recording features of the i3 would make it a very reasonable choice. Korg has some of the best pads, electric pianos and symphony strings on the planet all the way back to the O1 genesis engine in 1990ish. I really appreciate what you bring to the table - in-depth review and honesty. Thanks again for all your help - youtube videos - in aiding me in my quest to replace a great, old board!

Your own drum tracks or beats for lets say track 1 and then record the other 15 tracks without accompaniments is it possinle?. And finally what quantizing can one do with the sequencer?

The features I find interesting, and useful: #4 #7 #10 (Most of the keyboards I have don't have the transpose feature, which is okay. But, when I first got interested in keyboards, most of the songs I played along with were in the same key, so that helps a lot.) #11 #14 #20 #22 #23 #25 This isn't quite the same as #19, but all the keyboards I have with accompaniment make it so you don't have to play finger mode, and stretch your fingers to press three keys. All you have to do Is press one or two keys. For example if you want to play a C major chord, all you have to do is press one key. (C) And if you want to play a C minor chord, you can just press C and B minor together. (Hopefully that makes sense.) Is it possible to do that, or not?
@ginger-cathousecreations43152 жыл бұрын
Yes it is possible to play chords with one or two fingers depending on which fingering method is chosen in the settings (Fingered1). For a C chord, you just play C (root note). For a C minor chord, you play the C (root note) plus the Eb (flattened third note). Since I know my chords, I find this useful and easier but it might be a tiny bit harder for someone who doesn’t know their chords. However, it displays what chord you are playing on the screen so it is easy to figure it out (plus you could just count three half steps up from the root to find the flattened third.)

As a guy relatively new to the music production scene ( 1 year this month) would this be a good upgrade from the Roland JDXI? I bought a behringer TD-3 and a uno synth to compliment the JDXI but now I'm looking for something to replace it. A new full on work-station, would this be a good choice or do you think there's better out there in that price region?
