How do you save an external wav to a program on the Kronos? Thx for your help!
@scoopicman2 жыл бұрын
Oh, you mean the short answer? Here goes.... If I'm taking a wave from my computer, I put that sound on a USB stick, plug it into the Kronos. Open up DISK -- UTILITY -- COPY and copy it to the Kronos' internal HD. It's better if you organize your drive, like in this pic: www.midnightsunent.com/KronosDisk.jpg I would copy it to my "Waves" folder. Once the wave is in that folder, you can select the wave and LOAD it to RAM. Go to SAMPLE mode and put it in a MULTISAMPLE, like I did in the video. Name your sample and multisample, then SAVE -- SAVE SAMPLING DATA. It could be to that Waves folder, or to a "Samples" folder, like I made. (NOTE - if your sample is named "Bark," Bark.KSC is saved, but also Bark_UserBank.KSC is also saved.) In Program mode, go to the OSC/PITCH tab -- OSC1 BASIC. From there, you tap on MULTI, then pic SMP. Navigate and find "Bark." Save the program when you're done. Next time you turn on your Kronos, LOAD that sample into RAM. Now, If you want that sample in your program, every time you power up, you need to go to GLOBAL mode -- KSC AUTO-LOAD. Tap on the ADD KSC. Select "Bark_UserBank.KSC." Set it to "Virtual." Remember it has to be the "UserBank" version, which will point to the original sample. This will let your samples stream from the Hard Disk. No need to use up valuable RAM. Virtual only uses about 10% of the RAM needed to play your samples, hence the ability to get 20 gigs of samples out of 2 gigs of RAM. (The OS and ROM use the other 1 gig of RAM.) You can press DO AUTO-LOAD NOW or just turn off the Kronos. The next time you power up your Kronos, your samples will automatically be loaded.

Hello I’m new to the Kronos world, question, can samples from korg , PA series be used on Korg Kronos?
@scoopicman2 жыл бұрын
I've never played with one, but the specs say that a PA4X can load Wav files, soundfonts, etc. It seems so, if you are talking about external samples. On page 490 of the manual, it says the PA4X can export samples to Wav, which the Kronos could load. www.korg.com/us/support/download/manual/0/516/2572/

Cool video, I have a question. If you work on a song in the kronos using audio and midi tracks and you want to send it to someone to mix, how can you export the 16 invidivual midi tracks plus the 16 audio tracks all as invidivial audio tracks? Is this possible without a computer or DAW?
@scoopicman2 жыл бұрын
That would be a bit of work, for sure. First, I would copy each of the 16 audio tracks to a USB. Then delete the audio tracks from the song (provided you SAVED them). Then I would record each MIDI track to an audio track. If you use the L/R inputs, you'll need to turn the metronome down and record to one or two tracks, per sound, depending on needing them in stereo or not. I always thought that the best mixing would be with mono sounds, otherwise what is the point of a mix?

@@scoopicman thank you, I just read a comment online that read, in the sequencer mode press on the audio in/sampling tab, then press on the pull down menu tab on the top right corner of the screen then press Bounce all tracks to disk. I have to try this when I get a minute, just thought I share the info I came across... thanks again

@@descargamusicalny When you said "individual" MIDI and audio tracks for someone to mix, I thought that person must be an audio engineer, hence he would want the individual elements so he could sweeten, pan, and level each part.

@@scoopicman I see, so that feature will not give me the individual tracks.. well I guess I go with the explanation you gave me, thanks
