This is the best promotion video ever! I think it will sell more Motifs then any other Yamaha official video ever created. Only problem is, you are such a good player that I'm sure you'd make the Kronos sound good as well... Anyway, there are lots of keyboards players who can play a piano sound on a keyboard , but there are very few who can bring the other sound come to life like you can. Excellent player and musician!

I have both the Kronos and a Motif XS. In my opinion the sounds from the Motif are more polished since the effects and reverbs are so much better. Karma patches are actually better on the M3 than the Kronos and I prefer the Motif Pianos too. Kronos is still a great keyboard, you just need to work harder to achieve a good sound.

Great video !! great playing !! I Noticed the 1/4 Tone Scale .. nice. Yamaha remains the greatest for realistic sounds but I also like the M3 for its great synth sounds !!

The Jupiter-80 is at least as advanced, and the Motif is probably the most favored arranger among pros in general. Yamaha has a strong identity in pure synths as well.

Excellent keyboardists on execllent instruments. Respect. As long as ppl use their synthesizers as sampleplayers, they will always need a new synth to get new sounds. And new sound can never be a substitute for missing musical ideas or lack of training on the keys. If I had the money would get a Kurzweil PC361. Look for a video with Geoffrey Gee presenting a Kurzweil. Not less amazing than this video.

@jwesKeys there is no problem with his Korg kronos videos . the answer is really is .. The Yamaha Motif XF is superior in sounds compared to the Kronos which didn't add anything new. That's why you liked the Yamaha videos more due to the authenticity of the sounds.

If someone is great, then it was you, definitely ... and thank you for all the helpful tips and tests. Both XF6 and M3 are mine, and Kronos is still no one has played live so that we can not give a true opinion. As you know even though digital Motif, sounds like it is an analog in relation to the M3. When Kronos come to stores than we'll know more ..regards for great Jamal...

Off-course you play other stuff well, and I like ToTo very much, thing is, many people play ToTo stuff which was initially played by a keyboard player on a keyboard, so it's not a big deal,. In my opinion, taking an ethnic wind or string instrument, and play it on a keyboard so it sounds authentic - that a hard thing most keyboard players can't.

Actually, no, Kronos does not come with full 30 GB of sounds. In fact, factory released Kronos contains about 12 GB of sounds, 9 GB of which are two pianos, and the rest is everything else.

I'd have to say the Kronos out of the Korg lineup. I've owned the Triton and the M3 and they both had amazing sounds. Basically the Kronos is an upgrade from both those boards and an improvement on the sound. However, I am sad they didn't put the pads on the kronos from the M3. : ( now for yamaha goes, those boards sound amazing. Plus yamaha has the best feeling keys, with Kurtzweil. Due to the fact they are the only ones who make actual pianos so they got their stuff down tight.

@miljantoto when you say light years away I have to assume your not using the internal rom wave files at all and using sample clips that you customized yourself which is a major piece of work if you did. Multi sampling, stretching, slicing, cutting, looping and all the fund stuff I did not mention. Is this what you did or did you just modify the internal rom presets to your customized presets? Thats and easy question to answer right? Thanks

@micha8877 Kronos has 30 GB internal hard drive, not waveform memory. And the strenght of the Kronos is not the sample bank memory size, but wide range of synthesis types. Anyway, Motif is a great tool in hands of pro, as well as M3, Fantoms etc. Vid's title "which one is the best" is kind of misunderstanding....

Don't compare your Motif with the King, the Kronos.. Kronos is really the ultimate game changer., Where as Yamaha is still polishing on acoustic and vintage tones that has nothing to do with young gigging musicians.. Korg and Roland has made an identity to synthesizers by emphasizing on synth tones, which gives the real identity to a synth artist. Playing an acoustic instrument on a digital synthesizer never gives an identity and personality to that instrument.

Certainly... Motif XF piano never comes to any level of the giant 9Gb sampled pianos of Korg Kronos.. Kronos is the King... even though he compare the hi quality audio of Motif with the lower quality audio recording of Kronos.. However we know the sound quality and versatility of both boards without this video.. MOTIF is not at all a LIVE performance board when compared to Kronos.. The breath taking 9 independent sound engines of Kronos is more than enough to show the limits of MOTIF..

I play korg triton extreme and i like korg pax3 (new sax,trumpet,harmonica...)too,but i have a band and i dont interesting for arranger keyboard.I like only good sounds on the keyboards and i dont want 9,10 or 11 engines...milion moogs,and 0 pads.Piano 4.7gB?I will turn soon on youtube my digital piano ymaha p 200 and you will see what is mean AMAZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING piano sound.Best regards.

No offense but I would rather have a studioBLADE. It's tons more bang for your buck than the kronos, motif, fantom, anything. It's basically an open labs, but at the same price as the kronos, with better specs than an open labs model. Plus it's upgradable just tryin to spread the word.
