I just bought this today. It's a monster. The demo does not do it justice by a long shot. The sounds and karma technology are wildly amazing. There are choirs, strings, pianos, synths, acoustic guitars, and drums beyond belief. Great sequencer... most functions highly intuitive. No offense to the video but go demo it yourself - this is one beautiful instrument.

Years later, this keyboard is still awesome even tho it does turn yellow on some white surfaces and rumor has it that the screen is a problem. Maybe cause of XY mode. I still love it

I bought the M3. The sounds are very nice with the Radias option installed. The Motif XS sounds are super hyper realistic. It's a matter of taste. For sequencing and ease of use. I have to give thumbs up to Korg. :-) The sounds of the Radias module are suuupppper.

create a combi with the sounds you want to use/split. you can map the whole keybed with many sounds/zones/octaves. once your combi is made, go to menu/page 3 timbre param. there you can choose the transposition value for each sound in your combi. then go to menu/p4 zone. there you can choose where on the keybed your sound will be active. you can create neat and tidy splits or have sounds overlap if you want.

With Karma, you can have "normal" aperggios as well. You can select a basic aperggio GE (Generated Effect) instead of a complex one.

Hi, I have mine for 4+ years until now and It haven´t failed. Korg has been implemented touch screens since many many years ago (I think the Triton was the first). I had an issue with a SW button that stopped working. I opened the keyboard myself and removed all dust... and that was all. Hope you have your screen fixed by now.

@EduCamargo The new Kronos have a 30 GBs SSD. It can play sampled sounds from that disk so as you say, Ram is not a problem now.

@MisaelCastilloBrenes Yes, I just saw it right now and we have to admit that KRONOS was a huge, huge, step further; a true slap on our faces. Yes, we deserved it, but of course I say it for the good. Something had to happen and fortunately Korg took the current ideas and turned them into a big toolbox. We sometimes invest too much on computer to have better sounding instruments but sometimes this search is tedious. Hopefully I'll pick a KRONOS and will produce an album on it!

@maltcus Yeah, sorry for my outburst - I think the M3 is largely great - it just drives me to low points when I try to delve beyond basics, and to program KARMA. I mean there are some Combi's with great KARMA, but creating original user patterns is simply beyond pushing a few sliders, which only ever seems to slightly modify the sounds. I've had the synth for nearly 2 years, and I just can't find out how to really make proper changes to preset patterns.

Motif XS can acomodate 2gb of RAM (yes, even Motifator is selling two DIMMs of 1gb so you can install and have 2gb of RAM on your XS). And now, with the Motif XF coming to war, RAM is not a problem, because you can buy a flash expansion and have your samples immediately at hand when you turn on the synth. Thanks, Korg.

i remember trying this keyboard on guitar cent, note im no piano player, i couldn't find like the "shredding effects" like for soloing, i tried electric guitar but it sounded so not like korg, o well maybe looked on the wrong direction, the roland juno d has pretty cool shredding patches or whatever

Dont expect computer-integration to work, Korg dont update their USB-drivers unless there's brand new gear around to sell... As such Mac users that have updated their systems since november cant connect any of their gear to their computers anymore - and still no support... Similar problems are increasing for windows users as well, though they are so far more sporadic... Mind you, the USB-drivers are atm over 10 months old...

I'm at the end of my tether with this synth... For so many years, just like the guy below said, this damn touch-screen is horrendous! Once the M3's screen decides to go, it's messed up for good. Even buying & changing hardware, as well as screen re-calibration does not fix it. Although this synth may have some other nice features, I'd avoid buying this synth. You'll just be throwing your money down the drain.

Rich7714 i had a problem before with screen. But i sold that m3 and buy another m3. And the m3 i have now is my 3rd one. it sounds good. And its gery useful. Believe me

I like my S6...the B3 was a little bit old after 5 years of intense fumbling around and getting the bits and pieces how I wanted it to sound. I looped with tape! I MADE music by hand. Yep, music with records spinning and beats pounding wires running everywhere. So in walks this guy with one of those slick deals like the one here... I'm just goofing with you, but bottom line- what would the masters have done with this 200-300 years ago? Hope better than this jet ski commercial crap in this ad

Fucking touchscreen is notorious for breaking...just got mine used and once in a while the screen just doesn't work for like a minute...I might have to replace this fuckin thing it only costs like 60 bucks for the parts but you gotta fuck with shit and idunno if I want to...

Exactly right! Except replacing the screen won't solve the problem. There must be something behind the screen, or some other bit of hardware causing it, because after replacing my screen, I continue to get the same problem.

Damn, I was about to buy one cheap and try to buy a new touch screen. I watched a video here on YT, I thought installing a new screen cover (touch sensitive, for 3o USD) would solve the problem, grrrr.
