Probably not. Although there is a sound editor it doesn't work on any of the Macs I have (Intel High Sierra and M1 Big Sur). Are there any other keyboards (other than the other versions of the MicroKorg) with the sounds in this keyboard? (especially the lead at 11:05) My MicroKorg XL isn't working as well as it did when I first got it, (2012) and it doesn't seem to exist anymore.

I came kinda close to the sound at 11:05 on a Matrix Brute with a single triangle or sine wave. I don't know of any other synths with the Microkorg's preset sounds but most synths could probably come close with some tweaking.

Any VA synth should get close to that if not better, the Korg line of VA synths aren't really regarded as good in the VA world...

While I appreciate your video, you should’ve used more range than that low octave for every sound. You can’t tell the full range of a sound only sticking to 4 keys in the low register.

Love Shannon! OK your question - Any one synth that has all those capabilities? Short answer - probably Roland Fantom 0 series is extremely versatile. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6qukmV8isZ8oc0. www.roland.com/global/products/fantom-06/ I've owned a few of the synths you mentioned (MicroKorg, SH-101, JD-XI) and the Fantom 06 covers just about every base and if it doesn't come factory installed there are tons of sounds on Roland cloud and if you still can't find it the Fantom 06 has a killer sampler. I've been trying to create a video of my musical journey over the past 4 years learning from scratch and searching for syths that would do what I want. Roland 06 series is my current go to. I also have a MOOG because it's just cool. But the 06 does it all. Drums, sampling, sound layering, super effects.

I have a yamaha mx series synth and all the sounds on there BLOW AWAY all those fatom sounds. Seriously.. The pianos alone were dramatically different.. My yamaha being so much more life like than the fatoms. BUT MORE THAN THAT IS THE FACT THAT THE FATOM AND EVEN YAMAHAS MONTAGE OR MODX IS JUST WAAAY TOO COMPLEX AND COMPLICATED.. THE MX SERIES IS VERY SIMPLE YET VERY HIGH QUALITY. I THINK KORG MAKES THE BEST DRUM SAMPLES THOUGH. BUT I PREFER TO HAVE A REAL DRUMMER ANYWAY.. Thats actually something you could research yourself plus I don't know the literal detail level you're looking for. Lookup a youtuber called Loopop. He has a patreon level book on all his tips and tricks and synth secrets. That's a good place to start. Second - WILL ANY OF THESE SYNTHS BE ABLE TO MAKE THE SOUNDS OF THOSE SONGS I LISTED???? Shannon was in the 80s. What was big then was Roland's Jupiter 8, Yamaha DX7 (FM) and others like you mentioned. There are software packs of VSTs that are remakes of those synths. Arturia V lab, Korg and Roland cloud. My advice is if you're seeking to replicate a sound you're going to need to 1) get hardware (or VST) as close to the original as possible and 2) know how to tweak it to generate the sound you're looking for or 3) get really good at sampling. The dirty little secret in the synth world and this my opinion, is you buy synth hardware or VST with one or two fantastic presets, a handful of good presets and the rest are just so so. The great artists Deadmau5, Kaskade, Notaker... all know how to get under the hood of any synth and find it's beautiful sounds. Each synth is different too. Korg, Yamaha, MOOG are all based on certain oscillators and filters that give them their distinctive sound and you can chase your tail spending thousands trying to find a sound. My solution to that was and is the Roland Fantom 0 and software VST augmented with Logic Pro or Ableton. I get you're a live music player which is cool, so how you get to your stage with your desired sound is going to be a challenge and most likely why you're having a hard time getting someone to give you the answer you want. It's complicated and hard to communicate and daunting to find someone with the answers. But most likely the person with the answer is you in the future. Good luck!
