Korg MS 20 Tips & Tricks - Chapter 3: Drum Kit

Here we are for the third tutorial about MS-20.
This time I'll show you how to create a pretty wicked Drum Kit!
I will also use some of the techniques showed in the previous videos ;-)

For those not quite getting the same sound his filter is different. here's what i did with my mini HPF 6.1 HPF PEAK 7.9 LPF 0.9 LPF PEAK 8.8 CFM MG/T.EXT 8.2 CFM EG2/EXT 8.5 EG1 Attack 0.9 EG2 Attack 2 ESP Signal Lvl 9

I've learned a lot from your channel! I'm using the MS-20 for crafting drum samples more and more. So easy to just sample them into the MPC straight off the synth.

the high end filter cutoff on the ms20 ext signal processor BPF is 5kHz, this guys one sounds like it goes a lot higher

John Kossin probably the filter. This looks like the DIY ms-20 that came with two different filters. The mini cam with the original ms-20 filter.

Håkon Lunde I got fairly close, without using the distortion trick, you need to back off the LPF peak to be able to hear the snare. But with distortion its fine. Just match all his settings excactly. BTW, the kick sounds awsome on my mini. Probably different filter adjustment (inside) may be your problem.

Why my snare sounds so quite and when I tweak HPF up there would be some high pitch sound (probably osc leaks?)

When I plug in the second patch cable though, the "snare" part doesn't work anymore.. all the settings are the same as yours though so I don't understand! I need to remove the second patch cable to make the right side of the keyboard sound properly, but then I lose the kick on the left side. It's either one or the other. Do you know why? (I'm quite new to this :))

i can't do this om my ms20 mini. If hear the snare, the kick is almost gone. If I hear the kick, the snare is a resonance bleep. Is it because the mini has the other filter?

when i follow the vid, i get no snare sound. as soon as i have the kick(wich sounds exectly like the one in the vid), the noise is gone in my upper note.. is my korg broken? :p
