Your pads are utterly amazing. This is precisely the kind of textures and atmosphere I enjoy creating... I just do it on my guitar rather than with keys.

7:02 oh yes this is THE patch. When I think “pad”, this is the sound I always dream of

I agree, modulated pads sound like heaven.

JediSid What is the essence of this patch? I can hear the panning modulation, and it sounds like there’s a few voices in there, but for someone who does not own this synth, how would I go about recreating it? Especially as the filter opens up, I can’t put a finger on what exactly is going on. Would just like to know the settings if you don’t mind!
@jedisid5 жыл бұрын
@@nilespeterclemens8328 it's a digital wave going through waveform modulation a 24db low pass filter, then you have the 2 LFOs modulating the pan and volume and throw some chorus and delay on top.

Very cool. I bought mine from a friend specifically for making pads, but so far it has just been sitting at another friend's studio due to lack of space at home.

Will definitely do that! Soon my new room is rigged with pc, soundcard and monitors, then I'll cram as many synths I can fit in there.

great sounds! I wound up picking up a blofeld instead of the ms2000 as my first synth earlier this year; this makes me want to pick up the korg at some point down the line :)

+Zach Hodge how's the blofeld?

I really enjoy creating patches on it. The sonic range is diverse; having 3 oscillators, 2 filters, 3 lfos, fm modulation, and 16 entries in its modulation matrix gives you many options for experimentation. The wavetables are very fun to explore. Its line output is kind of weak, and the polyphony count can drop significantly if you're really taxing it with the modulation options, comb filters, etc.

is there any differences between this and the MS2000 rack?

Evelyn V. Hey, you don’t need a pc to hear the synth, you can use an amplifier or powered speakers. I use my pc to record though. Thanks for watching.

these are beautiful- any chance you'll be making the patches available?
@jedisid9 жыл бұрын
+Kris Keyser I'm not familiar with the process of exporting patches to be honest.
@kriskeyser66919 жыл бұрын
No problem- lots of editors allow you to backup your files. You'd need a usb-midi cable and the right software. This may help: www.squest.com/Products/MidiQuest11/Instruments/KorgMS2000/index.html . I'm more familiar with it on the microkorg side to be honest but i'm fairly confident it's just some sysex trickery.

How much are they right now? I wanna get one before it becomes more expensive? Is it risky to buy a vintage synth nowdays (reparing costs etc.) and is it worth its price even though it only has 4 voices? Thanks. :)
