I can tell you that the multi/poly is a serious powerhouse! It is a great instrument -- so much fun for sound design and the sound is fantastic. It also sits very well with the wavestate and opsix. Great job, KORG!
@justinbernal1Ай бұрын
Thank you, the keybed kills me on the Wavestate, how does this fair in comparison?
@GerenM63Ай бұрын
@@justinbernal1 I think it's a good bit better. multi/poly still has an extremely light action, though, and no aftertouch so I generally use a controller with polyphonic aftertouch to play my multi/poly (as well as most of my other synths). I talked about it on my channel in a first impressions video a couple of weeks back. Spoiler alert: I really like the multi/poly a lot.

I preordered this synth when I read about the release. The main reason was that I use several Monopoly oder Polysix Plugins in my productions and I want to use a hardware device instead. The other reason are all the additonal features. I am very excited about the 4 oscillators which I can control with every beat. I use this feature with the Matriarch but the multi/poly has the additional wavetable option. I really hope that this synth is a little bit more intuitive than the Opsix.

You are totally wrong! Roland is the master of this game. They are supposed to have a whole mine under their factory in Japan. As the book of circuit tells it will disappear the day that roland starts to build some analog gear again...😮

If any more technicians are reading this the one suggestion I’ve seen come up is if we could add a feature to also add seamless transitions to layer muting For example currently pressing a layer mute or unmutes it. But it would be really cool if we could do like shift layer and and it would transition in the next rotate Other than that loving the seamless transitions the sound editing functions and the presets are a lot of fun to play and figure out how they were made for new sound ideas it sounds freaking fantastic

10:46 Yes. I've loved hearing what these new instruments can do, but the presets are so involved, the programmers are always there practically deserving half of the royalties for anything you create with those sounds--almost as bad as the opening Synclavier e.gongs in Michael Jackson's "Beat It".

permission to whine...why is the SHIFT button positioned on the right hand side, buried away. between other buttons. For muscle memory and immediate access, it should be located on the far LEFT, so you can quickly and blindly hit it with your left hand, and then adjust controls with your right hand. Am I the only one thinking this way? Not only Korg, but many manufacturers don't think this through...

Each layer uses one voice (this is pretty cool considering 4 oscillators + noise/ring mod + 2 filters per layer). 60 voices. Not all patches are going to be using all 4 layers, but worst case is 15 voice poly in the standard quality mode. That's pretty decent actually.
