I don't understand you guys why you haven't released module version instead. Most people these days already own midi controller, 37 keys is not enough room for a polysynth.

What's with all these folks demanding an opsix editor? If you have the hardware or the VST, you don't need one. The hardware doesn't have live MIDI implementation for every parameter by CC or NRPN e.g. changing an operator's waveform on the hardware sends nothing (I just tested that), and it's reasonable to assume that it doesn't receive any of those parameters either. So you'd be looking at an offline editor that sends and received whole patches by SysEx, not a live editor. Heck, I could probably figure out the format of an op6program file and make an editor for that, but I don't see any reason to bother.

I have Opsix hardware and Opsix native. Waiting for a 61key OP9 with 9 operators and sliders so it could map a Hammond plus it needs to support alternate tunings to really emulate organs modern or baroque. Opsix audio needs to get higher sampling rate and better audio quality and with 9 ops it should support bi timbrality either with keyboard or with one part in the sequencer and the other part with the keyboard plus ratio volume knob for sequencer part versus keyboard. Faster keyboard scanning and lower latency than midi and revise the envelopes to support more stages and looping envelopes. The operator oscillators need to be able to specify free running or initial key-on phase. to be able to sound keep the fundamentals even as the modulation increases, something that the DX7 did which contributed to the magic of the DX7 sound. The concept behind Opsix rev 2 is amazing and should not be abandoned by Korg. I realize to achieve what I desire Korg would have to go to a hybrid FPGA+ DSP implementation and keeping compatibility with existing opsix patches might present a problem especially with an overhaul of the envelops but it is not unsolvable especially with a Hybrid implementation.

I have the wavestate and planning to buy the opsix, however I have a feature which I miss. How can I control values from an external midi controller. For example in OPSIX there are 3 LFOs, can I access the LFO1, LFO2, LFO3 rate via midi CC? For a live synth I need access to the filter cutoff, resonance, and if there is no dedicated button, at least let me use my external midi, which I use anyways for the aftertouch. In the midi implementation I see some CCs explained like the filter and resonance are, but then LFO envelope and other parts are not explained, instead there is a CC range which says assignable. Where and how to assign?

Great video! I love the sounds you make! I've become obsessed with researching this synth. I think I'm definitely going to bite the bullet and pick one up. Do you think if I wish hard enough Korg will put out an opsix groovebox akin to the digitone? haha. Would love to have multiple tracks on the opsix.

There's already a $200 plugin that is fully compatible with the Opsix, but you might have to wait for a summer sale.

Was this intentionally recorded in mono? Or did you just not want to demo sounds with stereo effects?

Good catch! I actually was running the opsix through my pedals and one of them is mono, so it got mixed down to mono unintentionally. Totally my fault! I appreciate your feedback and for watching and listening so closely. The opsix has amazing stereo effects... I'll make sure future videos will showcase them! Again, sincere apologies!

You shouldn’t demo a keyboard without noting the use of external effects. It gives the wrong impression of the instrument’s capabilities.

@@gregorydolhy1407 totally! I agree. No external effects were used. I just ran the opsix through my pedal board to use my looper at times. All the sounds are completely from the opsix. Cheers!
