The first 2 albums was Ross just guiding Johnathan to let out his memories and release . He found out that was groundbreaking and add that with the unique bass downtuned 7string guitars and that upbeat jazzy snair ridding drums by David and you have a birth of a new gender of rock. That's how the legend of korn started 🤘🎸🎙🥁💽🎶💊💉💰

I saw them on their tour to promote their 1st album, and back then, I was a punk rock girl who could always be found in the pit! This was the first concert where I NOPED out of the pit in a heartbeat! As soon as Johnathon sang "ARE YOU RRRRREADY?" the pit just exploded with violent teenage boys, it was fucking crazy!

Because it got so big and lasted so long the newer generations don't get how different korn was then anything else it was a total shock the first time you heard it was like wtf is this shit if you liked it are not didn't Matter the music itself got everyone's attention I didn't know what they looked like for the first year I loved korn self titled so much people would find out I loved a band called korn and be like hay del do you want some corn I got some corn for you just to get to me angry the band itself changed the way I dressed completely after i seen how they dressed and I have to thank them for that was a young thrash kid 13 years old kid straight out of the 80s girls never came close to me until I started dressing like my heroes and korn a bunch of other bands started to take over music I became cool went from nerdy little metal kid to cool guy in one year thanks to this band they were a huge part of my teens

Korn issues sold 2 million but by that point people were moving on to European bands that was korns last big album a lot of people called it a failure but the album is actually one there very best just they hadst much momentum everyone thought korn was about to become mega stars like the the Michael jackson big but the album never did that that was pretty much the end of korn in mainstream nu metal had a bunch of easier to except bands the mainstream moved on to like linken Park and nu metal was about to burst the heavy nu metal bands were losing there fans to modern black metal in flames and bands like that and the easier listening bands went on still huge in mainstream for 5 or 6 more years but korn was the creators of the genre the reason it exploded and they had a kick ass run I think by that point 2000s they had 5 platinum albums life is peachy sold 5 million and they had a good 6 years of mainstream success pretty normal for big bands they started a genre and influenced millions they are probably the most important band of the 90s in rock some will say nirvana and yes grunge was big in the early 90s I fact it was the biggest rock movement since the Beatles 100s of millions of albums sold by Kurt's death but it only lasted 3 years yes those bands were mega stars of those 3 years bigger then Michael Jackson still only 3 and half years that's it korn was big from late 94 or 95 till 2001 they never became mega stars but they were as close as it gets and the genre lasted in fact it has made a huge come back nu metal is as iwrite this still one of the most popular genres of metal so for me korn is the most important most influential band of the 90s icons

LMAO @25.35 cover of English electronic band New Order- Blue Monday after Korn members slated mundane pop music. I am English so I was immensly proud that they chose an English band's song from March 1983. I do like Korn's version too but please refrain from saying pop music is cr@p during your interviews.
