I came here for this comment. I know people shit on Fieldy all the time, but well, he sucks. lol. He's popular and his sound is popular because people are dumb and latched onto him due to the fame of Korn in general. Nobody sounds like him because they all know how to properly play their bass guitar. For these few nights that Ryan was a part of Korn, they finally sounded great for the first time.

Ryan should never sell himself short though. His base playing the NUMBER ONE reason why L.D. 50 is one of the best metal albums of all time. He may have heard Korn and thought 'wow' but Im certain, those who love metal heard L.D. 50 and said "Oh shit, this is awesome!!"

Man, Ryan is in my top 5 best metal bassists ever. And he's such an awesome dude too. The first show I ever saw was back in like 2002? Mudvayne, American Head Charge, Rammstein and Slipknot. On a side not, probably the best line up I've ever been to, but for a first concert, I was lucky. Anyways, waited maybe 3 hours after the show outside the tour buses and wanted an autograph from anyone I could find, the only autograph I got was a couple from Slipknot and Ryan from Mudvayne. I mean he was out there until the last fan was gone signing shit and shooting the breeze about random stuff. Super cool guy and will always love Mudvayne because of that.

People are so idiotic with their negative comments, all I hear from the dude is positive things towards Fieldy and the band, they have respect for each other. Fieldy is a good bassist and he fits in the KoRn sound (which was somewhat lost because of Ray) every player is unique and it wouldn't sound the same if you replace an ORIGINAL member of a band, people will like it or hate it, Fieldy is a great bassist for KoRn's sound because he was there from the beginning, just because someone has better playing abilities doesn't mean they can easily replace the original sound.

@kcinimod10 жыл бұрын
Well, Fieldy is pretty fuckin metal lol
@Naptic10 жыл бұрын
But he said he was "metal" because of these guys
@CrownOfNails10 жыл бұрын
lol so true
@joedaddybrown8 жыл бұрын
naptic he said he was into death, morbid angel and obituary before he heard korn. which is actually metal not watered down radio friendly metal.

ryan should remember what hes done. mudvayne was badass and ryan had his own look, feel, and sound that leaves an impression on me. made me want to buy warwick and i didn't play bass

Ray Luzier and Ryan Martinie, that’s a wildly good rhythm section.

I bet the dudes in Korn were like," Ah, so that's what it's like to have someone who can play bass."

Fills in? Ryan would destroy Fieldy
@slimlimam457210 жыл бұрын
Ryan has a very complex way of playing, Fieldy's a great guy and a good bass player. But on paper and live. Ryan is a like the Bass "God".
@ThorbenYMCMB8 жыл бұрын
+Slim Limam I'am so glad that someone feels the same way about this
@BPoweredLove8 жыл бұрын
+nemesisslr Yeah, Fieldy is a permanent member of the band so Ryan being a substitute player on a temp basis is called "filling in". It does not mean which one has better technical skills. The term "fills in" does not imply inferiority. Glad I could explain some SUPER basic English language for you, nemesisslr.
@nemesisslr8 жыл бұрын
And? Ryan is better player. End of. Korn could only dream of having him as their permanent member.
