My best friend played this song on repeat for an entire summer one year. That summer the song drove me a little crazy after hearing it over 100 times, but now it just brings me happy memories. He died of a drug overdose last year and in memory of him me and a few friends got his name tattooed on us in Korn font. I miss him deeply, he was the kind of guy who was suffering terribly inside but spent every moment he had on this earth making other people smile. It’s easy to see why he connected with and loved Korn so much. Even though the music is angry and sad it will now always just make me think of my kind and loving brother.

You think it's funny? What the fuck you think it's doing to me? You take your turn lashing out at me I want you crying when you're dirty in the front of me All of my hate cannot be found I will not be drowned by your thoughtless scheming So you can try to tear me down Beat me to the ground I will see you screaming Come and fill the pages of my fantasies I'm above you, smiling at you, drown, drown, drown I want to kill and rape you the way you raped me And I'll pull the trigger And you're down, down, down Why are you trying to make fun of me? You think it's funny? What the fuck you think it's doing to me? You take your turn lashing out at me I want you crying when you're dirty in the front of me All of my hate cannot be found I will not be drowned by your thoughtless scheming So you can try to tear me down Beat me to the ground I will see you screaming All my friends are gone, they died (gonna take you down) They all screamed, and cried (gonna take you down) I got my monkey, got my monkey back against the wall Gonna take you down All of my hate cannot be found I will not be drowned by your thoughtless scheming So you can try to tear me down Beat me to the ground I will see you screaming All of my hate cannot be found I will not be drowned by your thoughtless scheming So you can try to tear me down Beat me to the ground I will see you screaming 🎶💖💖💖🎶🎶💖💖🎶

Listening to Korn is a therapy, while most of the people around me can't relate to and truly understand my pain, their music tells my stories and what I feel inside right on spot. When I heard this song, I felt so much better that someone is telling my horrendous past of being bullied and isolated by my classmates because I was a different guy while literally no one supported me through these hectic experiences. Just like what they said in Twisted Transistor: "A lonely life where no one understands you, but don't give up, because the music do."
@JawsGodzilla67611 ай бұрын
100% therapy. I remember once when I was 13 or something and I had a messed up day and I just didn't know how to express my anger and feeling of isolation; so I listened to Daddy and sang along and cried so damn much.

KoRn, Slipknot, Disturbed, Godsmack is better than any drug or any kind of alcohol. Because of them I got clean and sober since 2004, and I’ve never looked back at that terrible life. I am now 44 and I still find meaning in the nu metal bands. So I’m here to tell you that recovery is real. Don’t give up, Don’t ever give up! This song in particular helped me out a lot. I was bullied in high school in the 90s and when I am having a bad day now, I turn on KoRn and this amazing song and make it thru to another day. #KoRn4ever

85. I remember how obsessed the world (along with myself) was with Korn in the 90s/2000s. TRL couldn't get rid of them...they had to retire their vids...it was an awesome time .. a lot of people today don't realize just how big korn was...they were heavy but doing pop record numbers in pure album sales....as a heavy act! It definitely opened the door for bands like slipknot...disturbed...Linkin Park ..etc the list goes on and on. Before Korn it was faith no more who helped open the door for them.

As in teenager years I had been listening to Korn, often when I was in a lot of pain, even now I return to this song, same problems, same self-doubt and reduction from family, but different members. It never changed, when you are down people will kick you, especially when you had a tendency for being weak and vulnareble.
@k.elysium68192 жыл бұрын
You're right, and this concept has always been right. Many people have this mob mentality thing, where they always kick someone who is down, to "please" others. I think there is more cruelty in humans in general than empathy. That's why the same problems always return, just with some new faces. For the most intelligent creatures on Earth, it's pretty disappointing that empathy, acceptance and dignity are concepts that seem eternally beyond our grasp.
@Kitty-xt6kh2 жыл бұрын
@@k.elysium6819 I disagree, I think genuine empathy comes naturally and cruelty is taught. Abusers are made, they aren't born that way. It's a mix of neurology where people are more prone to violence if certain triggers happen where essentially it flips a 'switch' in the mRNA if enough trauma happens as a child to make them prone to that kind of psychopathy. Additionally, why we see it more in males because the gene is passed down maternally, so women get the gene 'watered down' per say as they inherit an X chromosome from both parents making it less likely for the same pattern to form.. Hence, why we see things like 98% of homicide perpetrators being men. It's literally generational trauma. A lot of the cruelty in this world was constructed (think in the past how monarchs and leaders would cause famine & pit groups against each other to destabilize the population to keep control) and then inherited through generations. It's really tragic how far down we can inherit such trauma. It's up to us to spread kindness and show empathy in the face of ideas like that in order for us to heal,, and for us to seek treatment for our own traumas so we don't pass them onto others. I don't remember cruelty ever being natural to me or my siblings growing up. I remember deep empathy to the point of it almost hurting to see others' hurt, which I am thankful to still have. That's what I see in people. When I see cruelty, I see hurt, and people who need help.
