I assume it's a regular text-based GPT plus voice recognition and voice synthesis steps, so the voice recognition transcribed "Shirakami" to 白紙 and when the voice synthesis saw 白紙 it defaulted to "Hakushi" since the two systems weren't connected to share that kind of information.
