OKAY, I had a screwy month so finally getting around to listening to this. Hope you like gigantic feedback comments lmao (tough if you don't I'm spillin' my thoughts either way) Dethroned was a fucking FANTASTIC introduction to the album. Absolutely keeping up the wonderful balance of (relatively) soft and heavy, of clean and distorted, and of really cool and interesting instrumentation that made me love Eye of the Monolith too. Doesn't play it safe and does some unique stuff, loved the like... The kind of muffled blast beats? You took some of the bass or percussion off them (in mixing, I'd have to imagine?) so that they're a bit less obtrusive with the rest of the sound and honestly, I LOVE it, awesome effect there. Also the acoustic guitar playing crunchy rhythm sections and of course the touches of shamisen and... Was that erhu? And MAN, that vocal bit at 7:16 onwards. Chilling, absolutely beautiful. I love everything you two do, but, shit, I think the vocal range really does go above and beyond. Absolutely up there with your best work. Betrayed, alright you're really killing it with all the acoustic guitar and strings. All the build-up going on in this song, some really REALLY great guitar work, and then letting it LOOSE in the second half! That bit from 13:58 onwards, DAMN. SHIVERS! THE PAUSE AT 14:15 THEN THAT KICK IN AAHAHHHH SO GOOD. And back into your half-clean vocals, shit. This track rules. What a great emotional arc. I already heard The Rift when you put it up independently, but, damn, what a great example of why I almost always listen to music as a full album unless I'm out. It picks up that kind of lingering energy that the end of Betrayed dispersed, a bit, but not fully. Lights up all the embers I guess. I already liked this song but I like it way more in the context of the first two tracks. I remember y'all saying this album would have a lot more growling than the first, and the first three tracks have been pretty clean, especially Rift, so... I'm going to go ahead and guess that this track is doing some prep work for some fucking HEAVY SHIT in the next couple tracks. ... I swear I didn't write that before listening to the next track, lmao. You've still got some clean vocals in there to balance it - I need to emphasize, your ability to swap between clean and growling so smoothly really is insanely good and one of my favourite vocal tricks of yours - and YEEEAAAH VISH FINALLY GETTING SOME HIGHLIGHTING. TURN THAT BASS UP MOOOORE TBH! I mean maybe I'm just crap at hearing it, for someone who studied music my ear is kinda shit lmao, but I heard a little bit of his big chunky slaps coming through and that shit is GOOD. UUUGH, more wonderful vocal harmonies, so good, the harmonized chanting with the louder bass and the shamisen in the background? Yeesssss. Oh are we getting some traditional Japanese style drums? Oh, shamisen and erhu too, AND pan flute, hell yes. Suits 'Takamagahara.' Look, I have come to bristle a bit over the years at throwing all the "oriental" instruments into a cauldron, but I'm not gonna pretend it doesn't sound fucking great lmao. Leading into the high guitar notes, slowly adding the metal instruments, then dropping it back to shamisen and acoustic guitar... WONDERFUL. I can't hate it. Awesome vibe and atmosphere to this track, just really lovely composition. WHOAH HOLD ON WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS DRUM SOLO. HOLY SHIT I LOVE IT. Man, you shouldn't be able to be this good on three different instruments, that's some garbage right there. And that big vocal solo bit leading into the final section, FUCK, so GOOD. Then you just go full NIN??? Deranged-level composition, amazing. Oh THERE'S the growling lmao. Perfect energy for the big showdown for the Blade after Takamagahara built up the confrontation. The kinda track I could totally write a fight scene about, can really feel the flow of the fight through it. Forgive me if I imagine the Sentinel as a badass Samurai lady tho. :p Y'know, I was hoping for a more 'standard' track that was just really high energy throughout, and you delivered. Again, great composition, that even though this track stands out much less it was EXACTLY what I wanted at that point in the album. Extremely cool vibe to start off Mortal Blade. Horrible cursed wielder-corrupting weapon is a classic trope for a reason and you got the sound of it down extremely well with all the whispering, the steadily growing stuff you were doing with guitar and I'm guessing keys, and. Oh, good, you're great on keys too, fuck you I guess. YESSS MORE BASS, YEESSSSSS oh that vibe of the vocals, big open guitar chords, high-string wails, and borderline goddamn funky bass? Oh. Oh that RULES. There's a lot of tragedy in this track too, honestly the Sentinel's despair at realizing they're losing themself really shines through, I started to get some chills... AND THEN IT'S GONE as they embrace the rage. Fucking, perfect, this track kicks ass... Man, is your voice doing okay after that bridge? lmao You guys really love your big dramatic 'music to go with the final confrontation' themes huh? I'm NOT complaining. OH HELL YEAH AND MORE BASSSSSSS. Honestly I was a little worried Vish wasn't getting time to shine but Vish you are KILLING IT in the second half of this album, fucking fantastic work. OH SHIT THAT BIT AT 56:10 ONWARDS KICKED ASS. YESSSS FUCK YOUR TIME SIGNATURE. And straight into the big airy melodic bit. Fantastic, that whole sequence made me grin like an idiot. I wanna mosh to this... So when are you guys finding some other members so you can tour? ;D Oh no, demonic sword is whispering again, never a good sign. The VERY SLIGHT hint of clean vocals in the background? Fucking, chefs kiss. Fantastic. Bye Sentinel. x) Yeah, as Jyotektos said, fantastic transition from Vessel to Enthroned. Again you're injecting just this bit of despair and anguish into the Sentinel's voice in these bits as they're losing themself and it's really, REALLY goddamn good, you kinda planted the seeds of it in Mortal Blade and you're reaping like crazy here. More fucking fantastic bass work from Vish, love the flute behind it all. This track reminds me a lot of Darkness which wound up being my fav track from Monolith, so that's nothing but praise, but then kinda mashed up with Wrath? The subtle fire sound effects in the background are a really nice touch too. Absolutely fantastic end to the album too. Book-ended by phenomenal tracks. Welp, in summary, I really didn't think you'd one-up Eye of the Monolith. And I'm not sure this does; I've been listening to absolutely TONS of music over the last two years (I swapped my focus from streaming to writing so I needed a lot of stuff to listen to lol), and even then Eye of the Monolith was one of my fav albums for the whole of last year when I found it. But y'know what? You DEFINITELY equaled it, I think this might wind up being one of my favourites for this year. Killer job, you absolutely proved that Monolith wasn't a fluke, you two are an incredible, INCREDIBLE act and I wish you the good luck needed for enough people to stumble onto you to be recognized for it.

Wow this comment is amazing and you are the best - you made Vishnu and I's day for sure :D Lol your note about the tracks getting heavier after the rift was totally right - nice foresight! haha We were definitely intimidated when we started on a second album after EOTM to hope it lived up to the first but I think I agree with your comment - we definitely equaled it! I really wish I had heard of this band before I started to lose my hearing. I guess I'm thankful I can hear anything at all but I really do have a lot of pain with sound and everything is like really quiet and thin sounding and nothings full and layered and loud. I could never explain it but its like walking up the basement stairs in the dark and you just feel like somethings watching you from below and the hair on the nape of your neck stands up but you just can't see or hear anything cause it's like not really there lol. Please someone have a time machine to 2020 or at the very least early 2023.
