Some nice ideas in the game, the criminal system sounds very nice. The combat seems very static and clunky, which is a major off put.

Don't forget though, this is a F2P sandbox game. The graphics aren't going to be top notch.

the game has been out in korea for around 4 years now so the game is obviosly old and don't let the combat style/animation put you off, it is extremely fun and for me personally is very satisfying.

Looks like a nice blend between the class versatility of Guild Wars (1), the cuthroat environment of Lineage II and the sandboxy'ness of EVE Online. Can't say I'm not tempted to give it a try. I'd easily agree that the graphic (chr/combat animations specifically) does look like it could use some work; but truth be told, it doesn't really matter if there's a solid fun gameplay underneath. It seems like ArcheAge aims to have exactly that! :)

I never seen any mmo come even close to being as hardcore as UO in terms of death penalties. Not a single one has the mighty valorite balls to make players loose fucking EVERYTHING on death. Here, it's just this one thing for one quest, that's not fucking ultima style, this is "i want to have an interesting pvp feature and failing" style.

MrJibberishsg Look at Salem or Haven and Hearth they're both perma death mmos. Incredibly tiny but still extremely intense.

Currently the only way is to buy in.. which is quite expensive wouldn't suggest it unless you are 100% certain you will be playing this game for a while. It is a massive investment. www.archeagegame.com/en/shop/

No, I've been reading about it and some places are PvP free. You can also trade in safe routes if you don't want to loose your stuff, tho a higher risk brings a bigger profit
