There could be any number of reasons why the wall titans were buried an extra 10 meters: To prevent anyone on either side just digging under the wall, just like in the mid-card story, seems the most obvious. It also makes the wall extra impervious to attack.

@Darksightkellar Exactly this. I just don't buy a fully realized founding titan with complete knowledge of how its power works requiring people to bury literally hundreds of thousands of titans 10m underground. Like I said, I think the 'foundation' of the walls is titan hardening that runs very very deep (which is why the underground can exist), while the walls themselves are just titans standing there (sort of like the warhammers ability can be detached from the shifter themselves). Quite a few people are mentioning different things about the walls, so I'll probably end up elaborating on it in future videos as well 😅

I think he's wrong on why eren is doing the rumbling tho. I don't think it's just cause eren wants to kill the world for freedom. Think about it. He literally can see the future. He knew the world would attack the island and kill everyone there eventually. He also knew that the ppl in charge wouldnt act quick enough to prevent this. He knew that he would have to cause the rumbling and attack the world to force the eldians (his friends and the child soldiers, no longer children tho) to stop him and save the world. Then the world would be thankful and not kill the survivors on the island. He also knew he would have to damage the island to truly sell the fact that this wasn't the plan from the get go and his friends wouldn't see through his plan. He needs them to do exactly what their doing with no doubts. Hence why eren didn't want Zeke to scream and turn everyone that drank the wine into titans and literally put his hand out to single to stop when Zeke went to. Eren wants to save all the eldians, not just the ones on the island. Mainly Reiner and Annie and the rest. Everything he has done is to make sure his sacrifice leads to them living long and happy lives FREE from war fighting and death. He's not doing it to kill everyone or to make sure he's free. He knows he's gonna die no matter what, weather now or in a few years and is gonna do what he has to do save the ones he loves and cares about (also those of his race who have been basically enslaved). He's seen it and in seeing it he can see that all his friends work together to kill him and succeed. So he knows they survive. He wants to show the world that even when the ppl from the island could have sat back and had the world to themselves that they choose to stop him when no one else could. He could have done the rumbling test to scare the world but that would have led to historia being turned or her kid and having to feed ppl to titans still over and over to ensure their peace which isn't freedom and isn't what he wants. He wants all of their suffering to end. Also he knows Armin will die in a few years also no matter what (same with Annie and Reiner) unless he does this exact plan and gets rid of titans all together. Everything falls into place by doing this. He even makes sure Zeke dies by doing this cause Zeke isn't like Reiner and them, zeke enjoyed killing and enjoyed destroying and would wipe out all eldians if he could cause he's so fucked in the head. Theory about Annie's crystal: I believe it's said at some point that what makes the female titan unique is that it can tap into a bit of the other shifters' powers. Yes, in the recent 1 hour special, but I think she was referring to all the shifters in general since ultimately they were referring to Falco's titan having beastly qualities since he was transformed with Zeke's spinal fluid. I love the little details of the wall religion. Someone pointed it out to me that they pray with interlocking arms in the same way Willy shows the colossal titans making up the wall during his theatrical performance. Not only that, they pray in 3 interlocked circles which represents the walls themselves as 3 circles in the same form. Lastly the jewelry on the people praying is 3 golden necklaces with interlocking golden bricks and the faces of the 3 walls that represent the walls and the 3 daughters of Ymir they are named after.
@allusivegore6299 Жыл бұрын
Personally, I think Eren's berserk has something to do with the founder Ymir (which agrees with your idea that it is linked to Eren's rumbling form). I think it's sort of agreed upon that the role of the Attack Titan was to free Ymir from her painful chains of slavery under every shifter: being forced to build their titans by hand every time they wanted to shift. Here: Eren swore he'd kill all the titans and (indirectly) swore he'd end all shifters and titans in general which would in turn end Ymir's suffering. So this caused Ymir to give him a titan of pure rage: mirroring her pent up rage before she releases it and starts the rumbling. It could also link to how Ymir builds a titan adequate for the job they're needed for: like how she built an arm for when Eren needed to block a cannon ball. So when Eren basically orders Ymir (unknowingly) to build a titan powerful enough to kill them all: Ymir gives him all the power she could possibly give the attack titan (these limitations explain why he doesn't go rumbling mode since he doesn't have direct access to Ymir/royal blood or gets hardening since he hasn't drunk the vial labelled 'Armor' yet which is also how Annie gets her hardening powers since she later talks about how she had to drink all sorts of disgusting spinal fluids). Would you agree with this theory Korotos?

The names of the titans are given by others based off certain qualities they know about. No one knows of the attack titans ability to see future memories. Quite a few people have mentioned this, but I don't think it makes too much sense tbh. When the Marley trio reached Paradis, they were children - so if the hoodies are actually Marleyan clothing, you have to assume they brought literal years worth of clothes with them that they'd only grow into? 😅 They were travelling light and when we see them wake up post-Shiganshina, they don't have anything with them, so saying they brought modern-ish clothes to me seems like a stretch even for overanalyzing 😅 p.s. also cloaked shirts and such existed in medieval times, so even that is kinda iffy.

Another thing to note from Edwin's perspective; Annie, the female Titan that was leagues above any abnormal Titan, is now stuck in a crystal. Meanwhile, Eren seemingly now has full control over a Titan that could at least keep up with hers, if not best her. Now they have a moment of peace, meaning Eren can practice being in his form without being at risk of being taken away. (As they yet don't know about Reiner and Bertholt being the main culprits)

Yea,me too. I hate when people say that Eren is now a villain,because he was never good or bad in the first place,none of them were,that is literally the entire meaning of the story,that no side is truely right or wrong,its just a matter of perspective.

I am sooooo happy I found this series. I never have enough of AoT and finding this was almost as getting a new season to drop from the sky! I've never seen any analysis come even remotely close to how detailed this is. So really, mad respect for putting this together as it is not only very high quality but also there is a lot of it... so I can't even imagine how much time you put into this. I love watching these long analyses as then I can feel that someone loves this series at least as much as I do and your analysis is by far the deepest one I have ever seen and surely deeper than I could ever see by myself. I enjoyed every second so thank you for making this. Now that I caught up I have something to look forward to in terms of AoT while waiting for the AoT final season final edition final episode finale. I don't think there is any series that is as fun to rewatch as AoT. I wouldn't be a stretch to say that I enjoyed rewatching it even more than when seeing it for the first time. I think some of my most memorable moments from my rewatch was Eren just standing there with the PTSD Eldian soldiers and then Falco correcting his armband (of course I had no idea it was him at the first watch so I pretty much exploded when I saw this), and also Ymir's conversations with Bertholdt and Reiner in Season 2. And now I've learned an absurd number of similar moments from season 1 thanks to you. You also generally made me appreciate some details I never noticed before whether it comes to hints, cinematography or even related to the soundtrack which I am already madly obsessed with. Even though it's a masterpiecie, I still have to say that season 1 remains my least favourite season of AoT, because I believe it just keeps getting better and better! In my opinion everything from season 3 part to till now is literally peak, Pieck fiction and of course it wouldn't be possible without the buildup from the earlier seasons for all these plot twists and answers to be so impactful, but still nothing matches the later seasons for me, and every rewatch.... I end up loving them even more.... and crying even more.... so I can't wait to see what you do with them, and after seeing the season 2 videos you've uploaded so far I definitely believe this series will get even better. So I wish you all the best and lots of fun in making these videos! I made some videos in the past so I know how long it takes and how easy it is to burn out so once again huge respect. Congratulations to you, 2000 years later, when you probably finish this series lmao.

20:35 I'm sorry, but no, i don't buy that. It's far too significant to be "just a callback". There was nothing stopping MAPPA from just ignoring it and pretending it didn't exist like every other season after it, but they chose to very clearly call attention to it.

i wonder what would have happened if annie got away :o I'm guessing she would try to yeet the hell outta there and get back to marley, so would she seek out berthold and reiner and try to convince them to go back with her (empty-handed?) I'm guessing she wouldn't. i also think that she would most likely get spotted by pieck and zeke, and how would they react? would they let her go? or would they try to get her back onto the plan of capturing eren w/ berthold and reiner? pieck and zeke are annie's superior officers and they're a lot more tactical so i feel like they would be able to roll w/ the punches and try to think of some way to make the best of the situation and capture eren. i guess they don't know that eren is the founder yet but i feel like zeke would hear the name yeager and go HMMMMMMMMMMM SECRET BRO-BRO??? and get extra motivated thru that
@sor3999 Жыл бұрын
Annie's cover is blown. She gets benched and hangs around with Zeke and Pieck. But around this time, Zeke and Pieck are already turning Ragako into titans and Reiner and Berthold also blow their cover shortly after and flee to Zeke. So IMO she would end up participating in the fight at Shiganshina and possibly edge the win for Marley here.

When Eren says "I'll destroy the entire world!", in his berserk mode, he's saying, word-by-word in japanese, what he says to Ymir in the Paths when interrupting her flashback, and also what he says when the rumbling arrives in Marley. And his words "I'm free!" ("ore wa jiyu da!") sounds very similar in tone and phonetics, to what he says in child-like joy later during the rumbling "This is freedom!" (kore ga jiyu da!"). Eren's Attack Titan was sending memories of the future to his younger self to regain focus and defeat Annie.
@Nivomandasrail10 ай бұрын
I believe the berserk mode was only possible due to a combination of Eren's youthful, naïve rage, plus the Attack Titan's endless desire to pursue freedom, plus the titan healing process which we know emits heat. The titan's healing process and powers are based on the host's will to live and fight, and we know the Attack Titan specifically has always managed to find hosts who have an intense desire to fight for freedom. With Eren the Attack Titan also found a boy who was so full of rage and pain that it could bring out the full potential of both the titan healing factor and the Attack Titan's desire for freedom. Eren was literally born for the Attack Titan to use as a vessel for rumbling the world and erasing the Marleyan/Eldian history. It's like the Attack Titan was a fragment of Ymir's consciousness that always wanted to break free from the 2000 years of obedience towards King Fritz, but it had to wait for the right host-body to finally end it all. Both Eren and Mikasa were chosen by Ymir. Eren because of his hatred, and Mikasa because of her love. That's why the story could only end this one way. Eren thinks it's because he was an idiot, but in truth it's because when he was a boy he watched his mother get eaten by a titan and his rage could be felt through all those 2000 years of memories within the paths. It had to be him because nobody else would've been willing to keep moving forward, keep pushing himself through hell, past hell, to find what's beyond is absolute freedom. The End.

I always assumed the "berserker" titan was just anime flair. Like when Krista tried giving Sasha food after she was forced to run all day, and Sasha suddenly got red eyes and leaped at her like an animal. It's just anime artistic flair. We weren't truly mean to believe Sasha had powers, nor are we meant to think that "berserker" titan was actually plot relevant. It just looked cool lol. But that's what I think anyway.

I’m really surprised that the anime just decided to make up the berserk Titan even though it was never in the manga at all. That entire fight is nothing like the source manga.
@Josh-ht7ci Жыл бұрын
well there is a lot of anime out there that didn’t stick to the source material so changing up one scene is not that big. Also smth like pacing is also changed. For instance the anime of AoT starts with Eren and the cadets traning and then fighting Trost but in the Manga they do switcheroo a couple of times and makes it more confusing imo.

So my understanding of Annie's crystal is something like this: I believe the special power of the female titan is the ability to replicate/mimic aspects of the other nine's powers (according to the manga I think) and her crystal is a lot like the one used by the war hammer titan in early season 4

If you actually read the wall story, the guy hits a floor at the bottom of the hole which is implied to be where the Titan's feet are. My interpretation was that the Titans legs were buried to hide the giant foot protrusions and also to stop people from creating tunnels under the walls for black market purposes and such.

Another simple answer for the fire could just be…titan steam. The colossal and colossus titans exert so much energy that they can set things on fire, what’s stopping other titans doing it? Obvious someone who’s mastered titans wouldn’t do it, but someone’s who’s so emotional and still learning might get so heated in a fight that he starts exerting every bit of energy he has to fight Annie, making him catch on fire similar to the building Berthold throws around Shiganshina

2:11 It still blows my mind how the timeframe of these events are placed. Eren vs Annie stohess fight and the retaking of Shiganshima fight only took roughly seven months, not even an entire year has passed, hell, The trost and Shiganshima retaking probably took place at the same year(?). Because for us all that took a long time to be published in the manga, and animated, very baffling.
