Full lug helps keep muzzle down a bit not a issue with weak rounds , That hammer is not good and looks odd and no need to skelotonize it on that vault of a gun lol,I have Kraton grips on every revolver I own mostly old Pacymayr Presentation. What a great quality investment you can enjoy.

I don't find full underlug revolvers balance well for me when shooting one handed. I have a 586 6" that I really only like to shoot two handed. I think the 6 inch S&W Masterpieces with the heavy barrels are ideal for me. I love how accurate revolvers are for how cheap you can pick them up for, that fixed barrel is a huge advantage. To get a 1911 with a trigger and accuracy that some of my K38s have would cost 2-3 times as much or more than the $500-700 I've paid for vintage target Smiths.

I have a 4” Mongoose which love. It is so accurate. I shoot both 38 Specials, 357 Magnums, and not very often, the 9mm. I have cylinders for each caliber. If accuracy is your actual goal, you may want to call Nighthawk and ask them to fit you with a 38 Special cylinder. You don’t get the bullet jump and it may just be worth it for you. I think I noticed a difference in my shooting. I was started today at the range with 38 Special and the range officer said I shoot better than 99% of the people who shoot there. Just a thought.

I bought mine also last year. Seems very rugged. The only downside I see are the tight tolerances, because of that I clean it quite often, which is a "walk in the park" with the quickly removable drum.
