KORUA Shapes - YEARNING FOR TURNING Vol. 6 - Carve Oddity

Carve Oddity is a collection of favourite moments from the 16/17 season - including, but not limited to - riding deep powder in the forests of Japan, going on weekend mini-missions to find new zones at tiny Swiss resorts, slashing chunky slush in the halfpipe and wave-park up in LAAX, and finding surprisingly good powder in the Engadin valley super late in the season. Despite difficult snow conditions we managed to have a whole lot of fun doing what we enjoy most: simply snowboarding.

Just got done riding my Apollo 156 goofy. I ride a lot sometimes 80 days a year. Worked in a tuning shop on plenty of boards. I've ridden plenty as well and the apolllo is my favorite. Carves mean!!!! You can really lay into your turn

Dear Nicholas, love those korua videos, thanks a lot!! They got me back on the slopes and fall in love with carving (still practicing, not mastering, but having a lot of fun doing it). I really admire your seemingly effordless and flawless riding style!! I have a question: have you got any pro tip for not washing out on backside carvs (that much) and holding an edge better troughout the turn? I feel I'm trying to apply your tips from the tech talk, but still have trouble holding an edge (or fetting the edge to grip during the beginning of the turn), especially when the slopes get harder/icyer. Tried tucking the back knee in more but that kinda wears on it quite a bit. Toeside is not problem at all. I'm currently riding +27, +9 for more edge hold, had +24 and -3 before that. Any tip would be much appreciated (knowing that without seeing me ride it's quite tricky to give an answer). Have a great season and thanks again for the inspiring clips!
