I always love your color correction videos, Blair. The Tarte creasless and the Huda are my 2 favorites right now. I like the applicator and packaging of the Tarte better though. I'm 34 and have very dark circles, so I'm grateful for all you've taught me over the years. Congrats to you and your husband as well!!!!

I love how knowledgeable you are when it cones to color correction. :) It is so hard to get the perfect concealer shade to do what you want under the eyes. I use the Tower 28 concealer and think I need to experiment with a different shade as the formula is perfect for me, but after watching this, I feel like I could better with shade. I totally agree with you when discussed the super bright under eye. That looks too unnatural, darkness or hollowness peeks through, and it looks unnatural.
@simplyblair14 сағат бұрын
Concealer shade is so important, but you’re right it’s so hard to get right! I love Tower 28, I use DTLA in that one & it’s a great neutral undertone!

I don’t need a color corrector but this was still SO interesting! You really know your stuff on this topic! The side with the darker corrector looked the best but thought the lighter corrector with the yellow concealer looked really good too!

What an interesting demo. I am fairer than you…but the circles under my eyes are already purple so I’m not sure that lighter/pinker shade would work for me either. Thanks for this!

So thorough and helpful! I appreciate the swatches side by side so much because I’ve tried several of these products and was curious if maybe the kosas could be a good color for me! I think illusion may be just a bit too orange. Still the best I’ve found so far is the Sigma duo in light medium - also recommended from your videos! It has a little more beige in it, is so hydrating with great medium coverage and I can get away with wearing it on its own, which is how I know I’ve found a good one 🙂
@vanessalawson404512 сағат бұрын
I also think if you don’t have to conceal over top of corrector is when it looks best and it’s the perfect corrector. I just got the sigma duo and love the tones but it’s sheerer in coverage than I thought but I can wear it alone

@simplyblair I have a lot dark circle area under eye and sometimes I think the blush makes more diference than the color corrector. Maybe because the consistence.

I'm so glad you tried these. The lavender tone to the pink may be perfect for me since my undereyes are brownish by the inner corner but rather sallow outer corner. This might neutralize that yellow too?
@simplyblair14 сағат бұрын
Yes, I would think this shade would help with any yellow tones as long as it’s not too light for your skin tone.

No one does color corrector reviews like you! Agree that the lighter shade is too light, which emphasizes hollows under the eyes. The darker shade with the lighter concealer was perfection!
@cs-yq5edКүн бұрын
I would think that if your undereyes have bluish purple tone, you would avoid that pinky (somewhat lavender) shade. You would want a peachy shade. But for the melasma (which is kind of yellowish brown) I think a pinky lavender shade would be better.
@heatherLcharronКүн бұрын
Completely agree. I think she should try the lavender one for her melasma spots. It actually did look like the lavendar covered the melasma better and the peach covered the undereye better which makes sense. Or people with sallow undereyes could benefit from it. Also I definitely think Blairs point about using that lavendar shade to correct a concealer that's too yellow is a brilliant idea. I use one from la girl to do that with my concealers and foundations, but I like the kosas formula better and it's slightly less lavendar so I think it may work even better than that one for me. (Not that I'll ever use that one up with how little I use 😅)
@cs-yq5edКүн бұрын
@heatherLcharron That is exactly what I thought! 😊 The side with the pink corrector did a great job on the melasma, but her undereyes looked weird. On the side with the peach corrector, her undereyes looked great, but the darkness from the melasma was still there.

I’m so glad you pointed out the blue/lavender tone in the lighter shade, I had that on my wishlist but it seems like if I’m looking to correct blue/purple under eyes…wouldn’t I want to avoid that in a corrector? 🤨 Strange decision on Kosas’ part.
@simplyblair14 сағат бұрын
I would, I wish it was more of a salmon pink like Huda Cherry Blossom. Something about the undertone of Magic is strange to me!
@tzoe8757 сағат бұрын
I feel like I would need/want to blend the two to make the best impact. I don’t love the Kosas concealer so I’m thinking I wouldn’t love the corrector’s.

I should’ve included EXA in the video, but Kosas is even more pigmented than EXA. The pink shade of EXA is lighter than Magic in the Kosas, eye similar to the Makeup Forever shade that I showed in the video.

Surprisingly at 63 I don’t need color corrector under my eyes but I do need it for the occasional pimple or dark marks. Does it work well for that?
@simplyblair14 сағат бұрын
I would honestly use something like Nars Soft Matte Concealer for pimples or dark marks. It’s tricky to color correcting really small spots & then cover them with concealer or foundation without disrupting the color correction.
@janep337711 сағат бұрын
Does anyone know if the new Kosas corrector gives more coverage than the Exa color corrector?
@simplyblair6 сағат бұрын
I think the Kosas is even more pigmented than the EXA!

I have a ton of darkness around my eyes- honestly it looks like I have two black eyes that are half way healed. It’s all brown darkness though, not really blue or purple. Concealers seem to have a hard time covering it (and eye creams haven’t helped lighten it at all) so I’ve been trying color correctors. The thing for me is, it’s not blue or purple so I don’t actually think I should really be using one. I just don’t know how to hide the discoloration. Any advice?

@@simplyblairyeah, that worked thank You 😊 I struggle with corrector and concealer because I’m so fair. Most peach colors turn orange and I looked like a pumpkin with the Caliray. Estée Lauder had a concealer way back that was cool toned and it was a blue mess. Cool colors don’t cancel out cool blue circles, it makes it worse. I have the peach pink Tarte and that is the darkest my skin can take. Thanks for the information about the yellow toned Yummy skin one because I don’t have that one. I don’t know of anyone who addresses this issue except for you. Thanks so much and like you said it’s trial and error.❤
