25:33 Fun fact: Level "---" (40-40) is just another corrupted castle level where you appear at the top and can't move. The floor is 6 tiles high, there is a cable (where the platforms descend in castle levels) from top to bottom as the 6th tile from the right, the background is black, but there is a cloud with red shading just below where Mario spawns.

I like to imagine the underwater castle levels are the same places as the real ones, but it's far in the future and they're abandoned and completely flooded. Also, the bridge destruction animation plays only when Bowser is there. In the normal game if you defeat him with fireballs (in addition to showing it wasn't really him) touching the axe also does not destroy the bridge.

Here's a fun little fact for you guys. Versions of SMB included in most unlicensed Famiclones (including, most notably, Power Player Super Joy III) allow you to cycle through worlds like this without use of a Game Genie. The B-button world selection method is not capped at 8 like in the retail game. I used to make a game of seeing where each wacky sprite character in the world counter took me. Of course, without anti-crash cheats many of the worlds were extremely unstable 🙄

Ah yes... the 256 worlds of SMB1. I remember how i used to play around with them and document them more thoroughly. With codes that helped me explore further such as, KILLLU + SUEISA, SLTOLP, NNPLAK and GIIIVY This was most certainly a blast! In fact, due to this, i went on a fun game genie code hunt, by typing in random codes and playing the game, to seek the results and document them. Which made me come up with a sick and aa twisted version of mario bros that i deemed, "SUPER HARD MODE", Which has super fast firebars, unkillable enemies and overall changes to the game color palettes with JUST game genie codes. (Obviously an emulator was used so i could put in all of those codes, otherwise i couldnt lol) If anyone wants to try the PRE_ALPHA version of this... then here you go... take it for a spin lol "NVXNLY + PIIKKA + STAYNO + YAZEGT + OTZSAK + STAGEO + ZIGGYY + GAXENO + XXIAOG + OZAEGT + OYUASX + NEXYAZ + EVYIVY + ZOTAVG + [IONATX] + YKYSXE + YYPSXE + IVSUOS + IXTASP + PEGLEG + VAXYLI + ZIGYAG + OTOSLK + GALLSS + AAOLUG" Also, if you want it to make it NEAR NIGH IMPOSSIBLE (as long as you dont use warps of course and legit beat the game.) insert i think these two codes on top of it "POIISG + KAAEPO" Still working on it, if anyone had good HARD codes that could tweak the game like no warps code or something... please let me know, k?!
