Goliath grouper is not protected in Trinidad
@biggiecheese51355 жыл бұрын
Because Trinidadians have no concept of conservation, we have no limits on how much fish you could catch and keep, nor any limits on size. We have SOME limits on certain species, but literally no one enforces them so you could keep any fish you want and as many of them. A good example is Red fish, there is a very strict size limit on the ones you can keep, only fish above 8" may be kept, but have you ever seen anybody throw back a redfish of any size? We have all these rules on the book, nobody follows or reads them. If you're interested, here's a link to a pdf. of our local fisheries laws, you tell me if you see anyone following these rules. rgd.legalaffairs.gov.tt/Laws2/Alphabetical_List/lawspdfs/67.51.pdf
@Jango9755 жыл бұрын
Biggie Cheese see it all the time assmal as it is they keep it if it’s even for bait they to greedy everything they want cause it name fish
@KoSMTT5 жыл бұрын
Hey Vijay...NOTHING is protected in Trinidad....And that is very sad! As Biggie so rightly stated even though we have some laws in place...It is never followed due to ZERO enforcement....That's why as fisherman ourselves, we have to do what we can to safeguard the few remaining fish we have around our waters...We need to work to ensure that we can continue to fish now and long into the future...That's why I always try to push this message and concept of catch and release and especially for a species like the Goliath Grouper!
@biggiecheese51355 жыл бұрын
@@Jango975 Boy just the other day me and my uncle nearly fall out because he didn't want to throw back a crapofish, he didn't even want to keep the fish but he didn't want to throw it back for some reason, just wanted to throw it on the bank and leave it to suffer, that's the kinda ignorance you dealing with in Trinidad, them fish is a delicacy in other countries. But Kos completely correct, us as the younger generation who will eventually take the reins must have a proper understanding of these concepts for ourselves so that the fish that we enjoy so much will live on, We can't teach the old dogs new tricks, but the young dogs could most definitely grow up knowing better than their parents. And with more people being shown the correct way to do this, things can only get better with proper guidance from our favorite KZbin Fisherman. We go turn round the fishing scene in Trini, watch and see.
