The engineering that went into designing the parts,, setting up the production jigs and moulding the tiny model parts is incredible and is in many ways more impressive than the original motorbike fabrication. The fact that they all fit together so perfectly is testimony to Tamiya.

Some years ago, I met Jim Redman here in germany at a local historical racing event. We talked a bit and I saw a t-shirt with him and a Honda and i said: WOW! The RC166... He looked at me and said: It was a beast! I swear, that was one of the greatest moments in my life.

Outstanding kit engineering by Tamiya. Great build too. The only area which lets the whole project down, is the use of vastly oversized Phillips screws, which look totally out of place.
