One of the best known battle rappers in the world, Dizaster has begun to battle more frequently, and against bigger names every time. Since last year alone, the Los Angeles emcee has taken on some of the best around, including battles against Arsonal, Cortez, and T-Rex on the URL stage. I really don't understand what people's problem is with diz man. Yea aye verb had some impressive schemes, and I like shit like that in my music but people seem to forget what rap BATTLING is. Remember when battling was just two guys meeting up on the street going at each other? There was no taking time to construct flawless rounds. I swear if you guys had it your way rap battles wouldn't even be filmed between two people anymore on site, it would just be people writing carefully thought out rounds and posting them on rap genius. Were's the grittiness in that? Yea diz can be sloppy sometimes, and there have been plenty of battles where relying on freestlying hasn't worked out as good, but I feel like that's all part of being a battle rapper. Verb took this battle. Diz put on a really good show, but he relies on his impressive wordplay while spitting ENTIRELY too much filler. This is a battle, not a song writing contest. His rebuttals were great, and his freestyle blended well with his written. But Verb's experience shined through. Verb simply had a higher number of relevant metaphors, similes, schemes, analogies, personals, and general insults. Name calling and detailed murder lines are bland, no substance in regards to a battle. Paint a picture in my head through clues and insinuations, that's the art form. Diz took the first, lost the second, and got edged out in the third by a hair.
