great battle, Sketch took the first, Souls shit werent hitting hard enough in first round and even tho sketchs set ups are cliche and cheap half the time, his punches were strong, 2nd round soul OBLITERATED him, what a round! 3rd i edge to soul, the intelligence levels are beyond recognition of the fans (obviously the accent doesnt help either), sketch's last round was dope, had some real nice punches, but again the setups were so recycled, The drake line was hilarious! organik werent feeling it tho haha, the Dont Flop shit at the end was so cheap tho, did exactly what soul said he would do in the first round, made him a poster boy for DF. Obviously the KOTD fans would appreciate that. Overall Soul 2-1

What does "playing god" have to do with anything? Oh...so just by being in a battle, going for the chain, Soul's "playing god"? ...sigh....whatever you can have that one "Sketch Menace" 2. What does "playing god" have to do with a seance? A seance is an attempt to contact ghosts and spirits of the dead using a medium. So....what does....whatever moving on. 3. How is it a boast, or a punchline of any kind, let alone a diss to Soul in any way, to threaten to turn a battle into a seance, in which people sit quietly together, light candles and try to communicate with dead relatives? 4. The flow in this bar is just...absolutely god-awful. I know a capella battlers don't write like they're on beats, but there's still supposed to be a fluidity to it, a sort of symmetry and internal logic, and this is none of those things, it just sounds terrible. 5. "Gather round me" and "two thousand and three" is your rhyme scheme? Is this a fucking joke? You're going for the title and that's the best syllable-matching you could do? 6. *THAT'S YOUR CLOSING. I'm a longtime hip hop fan but admit I haven't spent nearly enough time following battles over the years. I started watching a lot of it & reading blogs & sites over the last 3 months. This is the first Sketch Menace battle I seen, mainly because all I saw was loads of hate saying he was shit & I didn't think he was worth checking out yet. 19:07-19:13 was the best bar of the battle I think and definitely slept on heavy...Sketch got it pretty definitively overall, Soul vs Charron would be a classic match up though because both have great bars but constantly use famous people and references (like sketch said with the movies, etc.) in their material plus dont have the best flow/delivery

One of the only battles I've ever seen that's an absolute tie in my opinion. Soul edged Sketch on bars, Sketch edged Soul on performance. My decision usually switches with each viewing, but it's never bigger than a 51/49 split if I have to pick a winner. I didn't think much of Sketch a few years ago, but I feel he's improved a lot.

that was an awesome battle, rare that I find a battle so good ill watch it twice straight after to catch the quotables. Gave 1st round to Soul, had a good opening sequence and stacked quotables throughout, that sephiroth final fantasy 7 boss was line of the round. Sketch still came strong 1st round, has the better presence and delivery but got edged out in quotables. 2nd round was my fav of the whole battle, Soul had an awesome opener again, 5 great punchlines back to back, the I know exactly how you feel, top 5 of us 3, walked out of his battle, lucky bastard, organic regrets his decision, all hilarious! and finished strong with the chain of evolution / natural selection bar. Sketch came back hard 2nd round, the whole rhyme scheme ending with the wicked witch of the west was crazy, had a good flip on the game of thrones watching tv and the book is better, tough to call that round, while I think Soul had the funnier lines, I think Sketch's 2nd was more consistent and delivery flow and rhyme scheme were all much better, so feel like I have to call that round a draw as I don't think Soul deserves a 2-0 when lacking the stage presence and delivery that Sketch brings with his rounds. 3rd round I felt Soul ran out a bit of ammo compared to his first 2 rounds, still had a few good bars that got a reaction, nice finisher though. Then comes Sketch with his 3rd and some of the best quotes of the battle, starts with the anonymous tip, then that dogs poker like the famous painting was crazy! then the build up to who are you Drake?! hahahaha classic! went hard the whole round, and then the fuck don't flop killed it, body bag round, pretty much swung the whole battle for me how one sided the 3rd round was. so soul edged 1st, 2nd too close, but 3rd easily Sketch so have to give it to Sketch.
