KOTESAN, INDONESIA: BEAUTIFUL VILLAGE WITH BIG TREES, RICE FIELDS AND MOUNTAINS, SO REFRESHING!

Kotesan is one of the hamlets in Kotesan Village. Information about the origin of Kotesan village was obtained from one of the figures, FX Jumbadi. He provided information about the village's origin based on his memory of stories from his ancestors.
In ancient times, before the Dutch colonization in Indonesia, Kotesan village was just a vast swamp. Within the swamp, there were many Kotes fish. At that time, the population of the people living in the swamp was only about 1500 souls. When the Dutch came to Indonesia for colonization, they ordered the residents to build a river. As payment, the Dutch also instructed the residents to build rice fields to be used as agricultural land.
By the Dutch and the residents in the swamp area, the river was named Sungai Dengkeng. After a while, the Dutch found out that there were many Kotes fish in the area. That's why the Dutch and the residents in the swamp area named the village Kotesan.
Since Indonesia's independence, the Kotesan Village government has been officially led by a Village Head, up until now. The recorded Village Heads of Kotesan have experienced 8 changes in leadership.
