I know this is a longer video with a LOT of data points to discuss, but as its only the 2nd time putting this style of video together its very much a work in progress. If you want to see the previous reports I covered you can find those in the video description. I will do my best to improve on this in the future as more trends are discovered, but if you made it through the entire video I would greatly appreciate any feedback or topics you thought I might have missed 🙏

Hey man great video. One small critism i have is how you present the magic data. Play and collector boosters from the same set should really be shown together somewhere. As is, the chart makes it seem like star wars outsold magic when it really didn't. Maybe if it was one pillar shaded differently half way though to show the separation. Star wars is also going to incorporate their own collector boosters as well soon.

When SWU introduces collector boosters I will split them out in the same way, because in the end when we are trying to compare the product across the entire list the collector sets really have a different story to tell. It's also why I won't loop all the IP games into one pillar as it can skew the results and Weiss would look a lot better than it did this quarter if we hide away the 5 sets that struggled. The Big 3 at the end of the day are going to have much stronger sales offline as they've had more time to be established in the market, which I do comment on in the video, but I know that's harder to see here when we only have TCG Player information to go off of. Thanks for sticking through the video and I'll always look for ways to improve these 🙏

Moving my cases of weiss are so miserable lol I just straight up gave up on that. Even frieren I sold for a tiny gain, it just doesn't feel good from a store perspective to tie up almost $855 to make maybe $100 after fees and shipping. Selling frieren by the box was probably the only decent move the last 6 months, at around 20-30% net margin, which is right around what stores want to be making on sealed product.

Wixoss is weird, I'll always continue to buy boxes but TCG players stock is somehow worse than eBay in alot of cases so I usually just buy from there.

All i can hope is that weiss and fusion world figure things out but at the end of the day theyre bushiroad and bandai so i have little faith lol. Although according to ppl, apparnetly bushiroad has plans to fix prizing and get some good sets soon. Like im pretty sure when weiss and UA release Nikke, ppl are gonna go nuts for those.

that's good data thank you for the upload. was there a reason the union arena set was the only TCG that was split? i added the numbers on my own and it looks like it performed just as well as Lorcana which is a good sign. im looking forward to the NA report!

Union Arena, as well as Weiss Schwarz and UniVersus, will be split in these type of data sets because they feature more frequent releases and are tailored to specific audiences. All of these I would lump together in the "IP Games" category that I believe long term is worth its own look in how these 3 games are doing between themselves.

Given that sales data remains strong and the two 256 player events sold out instantly for BCG Fest Orlando its a safe bet to say that UA remains strong going into 2025. Once we get titles like Fullmetal Alchemist and Sword Art Online in a few months it's only going to continue to grow

There are a lot of game stores across North America, but from what I can tell right now the average locals scene ranges from about 4-15 people depending on the local population size. Although I have noticed a few in my area have 0 people because other stores offer more convenient times.

Weiss prize support has gotten immensely better since the Log Horizon days. They just started a new thing where the local store tournament winner gets a special promo. This month was Quints and I saw a sale for 50.00 not bad for a locals event especially since your getting in store prizing ad well. For the bigger events the entry promos sell pretty well and the top 8 and winning promos go for a good bit and trips to Japan are on the line. Tbh not sure what else they could do for prizes outside if straight cash. For the fall sets seeing them fail so hard was pretty sad. Those were sets fans of the game were screaming for but they really didnt scratch the collector itch, they were also really weak for competitive play. Im saying this as a huge Love Live with a lot of money in the jp release of miracle live. Quints premium and Nikke will both be forces when they hit the meta and the cards will probably chased hard for collectors. Ive been playing weiss since july of 2012 so I'm probably biased too lol.

I knew about the winner stuff for locals dropping after UA but haven't seen the bigger tournament stuff come across my TL (previously weren't worth much) so I appreciate the info on that one! I've said many times in past UA videos the #1 thing I want from UA is to give Weiss more competition so they will hopefully improve across the board. Weiss overall still sells very strong based on previous ICV2 reports so they can still bounce back from a poor Q4 schedule.

Saddened that Weiss is mostly hampered by the lack of people who know of it. Gameplay and IPs, imo, are the best aspects of Weiss Game is better than most.

Given the massive boom Weiss had in the last 4 years, if we look at ICV2 sales information, I think its fair to say we are past the point of it being a marketing/known information issue. The IP side of things became increasing competitive when UniVersus picked up MHA, and now with Union Arena entering the market, that its really going to come down to gameplay. Hololive was also a massive success for Weiss as well in the west. It's hard to say what Weiss can do at this point to bring in more players, but sales wise, it had some really strong years recently (top 5 sales)

Moonrise launches this month so it will be added to the Q1 report. The previous set was back in August so a bit too far back with not a lot of traffic yet to add to this breakdown

but if you add asian community not all play pokemon anymore it became collection only in one piece it's a small community they are more likely to collect rather than playing the game also the problem is no english to much to sell especially in singles. it's quite rare to see english ver of one piece

Thanks for the information, seeing numbers is very telling. I am happy seeing Digimon and Union are easily top 10 in sales. Next year, we'll see Gundam taking a chunk of sales. It's a big IP that I can see take on top 5 TCG

I am hopeful that Universus will see a solid upward trend in 2025. The next set release being Critical Role can really help them reach a pretty large audience. Plus after AoT3, they will be shifting away from anime for a few sets which should help keep things feeling fresh.

For those I've talked with the biggest barrier remains the gameplay and game knowledge. I had the opportunity to give feedback on the game before it was known to be called UniVersus and mentioned how template and gameplay are major factors holding it back and it bums me out to still hear the same feedback years later

@KozmicPlays I can see that. I am just getting into the game personally and so far the learning process has been alright. Granted I have been getting most of my information from content creators. I am not sure what the onboarding process is like from any official sources since there are no stores in my area that support the game to run demo decks/events. But I'm hopeful that will change as the game gets more attention

I won't surprise if they do. They fumbled Naruto TCG so hard and it end up shut down the whole tcg. They also did with DB TCG previously and now they are trying to reboot DB with the new name DBFW. Bandai is crazy. OPTCG is doing great so far but it is just 2 years now. So, it is hard to tell for now.
