Although this song is pretty good, of late I've found myself getting bored of the riddimy percussion. Its so repetitive. Imagine such a sick production like this one with percussion that varies a bit. That song would be perfect

Same, the whole 4-on-the-floor kicks with clapsnares getup is starting to wear a little thin, but thats kind of the defining characteristic of "riddim", so in a way "riddim" is also wearing a little thin. I'm sure somebody will find a new gimmick to keep the genre interesting tho, OR riddim will die out like brostep, and a better subgenre will emerge (ex hybrid trap, future riddim). Would be cool to hear some varied percussion in this track tho

That was always the issue with riddim. And especially because the thing with repetition is that just a slight deviation from the pattern can be a really cool effect, just like how in a really complex song a straightforward part hits really hard. Unfortunately, I think producers are worried about live play too much for that to happen. And I don't blame them. Live play and merch are the only ways you can make a living purely through music these days.
