Definition of KPOP GENERATION is really different by people and standard. so I just divide them as their DEBUT YEAR ( before 2003 / 2003~2012 / 2013~2017 / 2018~ ) By that standard, WJSN song will be in 3rd generation,, yes that was my mistake + ITZY is 3rd and IDLE is 4th..! That is another mistake. I just more focused on comparing their concept by time so I made so many mistakes like always😭 I will make more concentrate in my next video and always thanks for watching video 🥰 세대 구분에 대해서는 해석하는 관점에 따라서 조금의 차이가 있을것이라 생각하여 단순히 데뷔년도를 기준으로만 구분했습니다 :) (03년도 이전 / 03~13년 / 13~17년 / 18년 이후) WISHFUL 부분의 이루리는 이 구분대로라면 3세대해 속해야하는게 맞는데 실수했네요..! +있지분들이 3세대에있지만 아이들분들이 4세대인것도 같은 실수! 컨셉별 비교에 신경을 쓰다보니 이런 작은 실수들이 많네요..! 다음번엔 조금 더 신경써서 만들겠습니다!

Sometimes I see people fighting over which generation is superior, but to be honest, I don't see any generation being superior over the other. Whether it is 1st gen or 4th gen, there's still good music being put out, it's just that it's vastly different, and sometimes we are blinded by nostalgia to say that one is superior. You can have your preference of course, so do I. But this debate oftentimes leads to nowhere.

i would also put stray kids in 3rd gen. they debuted early 2018 with a prerelease in 2017. the definition i always saw was 2019-2029 being gen 4, but in the last few months people were saying 2018 too which is confusing

I don’t even listen to Ateez. But I had predicted they were going to be up in the Tough category even before it started. Their choreo for Gorilla is iconic. They created their own blueprint that even non fans and casual listeners of the group know it so well. In a good way. Edit: I'm laughing at my stupidity because I just realized I spelled their song wrong. OMG. So embarrassing... Anyways, yes Guerrilla, not Gorilla.

I grew up listening to the second generation, so they are my favs. And the 3rd gen have a special place in my heart too. I don't think that kpop have anything to do with age, but as I get older less and less groups I stan. At this point I am a casual listener of some 3rd and 4th gen groups. Mostly 3rd gen. RIP my 2nd gen hardcore stan heart. Though this year was amazing because Bigbang, 2NE1, Kara and SNSD got together again. I felt like a teen. Loved it.

While I agree with PND's comment below about no generation being superior, I do miss the 2nd and 3rd gen mainly for the fact that idols could interact with other idols regardless if they were both male or female idols and nothing would happen. Now, with how toxic some "fans" are, now the 4th gen can't really experience that.

For dark I guessed VIXX, but also BTS’ Danger or EXO’s monster could have been there. With some of the songs the groups weren’t actually in that specific gen, but I loved this video! Hope more of these based on concepts come! You could also be more specific with the concept, like vampires has been used a lot (supernatural is also an option) Keep it up! 😊

Ah, it really seems like 1998-2011 was my era. I discovered Kpop in 2004 but US was a little behind so TV was still playing stuff from 2002 while variety shows joked about late 90s. I took a break from Kpop listening and news around 2012. Even though I started listening again in 2016, I am still only gradually learning about Gen 3 and 4 idol groups and soloists up to today. At my age, it’s hard to make an effort to seek out every new debut or song/comeback. I let everything happen by chance. But it also feels weird to be a fan of groups who have multiple members who are 14 or so-young enough for me to have been their teen mom. 😅 Even most of the cousins I helped raise are older. So I can’t bring myself to watch or listen. 🫣 It was definitely different when I was 14 listening to my peers in SNSD. Not to mention SNSD had more innocent dances back then than current groups.
