This video has really made me realize two things: 1. Red Velvet are truly the vocal queens of this generation of KPop 2. Red Velvet are much better dancers in the grand scheme of things compared to a lot of their contemporaries. I’ve always seen Seulgi as an amazing dancer (second only to Lisa of Blackpink when comparing the Gen III girl groups), but they’re all so amazing compared to a lot of these covers. I still have a lot of respect for these artists showing love and support for our queens 💗💛💙💚💜

But for me Seulgi is number 1 bcoz of stage presence, while Lisa is more of girl crush nor swagger and seulgi is sexier type of.. Like if we choose another member Jennie over Joy, joy has more impact than Jennie in dancing....

Lisa and Seulgi are both very good dancers and good friends (you can search their interactions online). Lisa is a versatile dancer with rare unique 'swag' with her and she did all her dancing beautifully sexy especially with her expression ( just look at Lilifim dancing 1,2 especially 3 and the rest). Seulgi catch my eyes with very strong popping and locking style, stronger than anybody I've seen. Then I saw her duet with Irene in naughty with that ridiculous crazy Tutting and voguing which is one of the most difficult style there is out there (listen to the professional dancers reaction in YT). They are both an amazing dancer and yet just like what Seulgi said in a show, she do not want to be named the best dancer because there're Lisa, Momo etc. in the industry. They are all good friends who respect each other so much.

I think, the singing is because of their timbre. Irene, Joy and Yeri have a naturally bright, 'cute', timbre and everyone sings with good technique. When people cover their songs, they distort their voices to sound cute. Wendy and Seulgi never do that, even in their summer/cute songs lol. The best way to cover RV is in your natural tone and hope for the best. Lol.

Whenever I see a cover of Red Velvet songs: 1. Peek-A-Boo - all I remember is when they sang this live during the live radio interview while they were freakin' sitting. The harmony, adlibs, high note, it was perfect! No wonder it went viral. I still watch it from time to time. 2. Still waiting for a group to cover RBB and/or Zimzalabim. Bit I somehow understand why producers won't allow any group to do this. We already know how freakin' hard this song is. Their vocals while dancing -- I can't... 3. Psycho - I know a lot of groups/soloist already covered this but I ------ don't know. Still sad that this never won any major award. But let me tell you that this song will be remembered forever and will OUTLIVE us. Let's be grateful that we have Red Velvet. The harmony, adlibs and high notes, yeah it makes them perfect! To really cover Red Velvet songs, you dont need to exaggerate, you just need to be elegant and with class and still have that stage presence. Your group must all become vocally excellent, can harmonize despite having different vocal colors. And yes it will be hard because Red Velvet is just on different league. All idols are TALENTED indeed. But the reason why Red Velvet is THAT GROUP, it's because of their STAR QUALITY. THEY HAVE THAT AURA (along with other SM artists) that we didnt know how SM developed and trained. They have the secret formula.
