Agreed. Though to be honest I prefer singers be honest about it and just let the backtrack play during very difficult dance sequences, or even attempt to sing, the effort goes a long way even if it's not perfect. I think lip syncing is fine mainly when the singer is totally not in good condition to sing at all.

Am I the only one who honestly isn't that bothered by them lip-syncing? I feel like anyone who calls themselves a k-pop fan knows how incredibly hard these people are worked. Add on to that the fact that many are not chosen for singing ability (and are chosen as trainees for their looks or dance skills, for example) and go through so much rigorous training to be able to sing as they do even when recorded. I know I couldn't even keep up with their schedule of appearances and interviews, let alone adding in performances too.

And their choreo is not easy either... Imagine dancing and being out of breath WHILE SINGING. And in a stage idols can perform up to 3 songs at once... Its almost impossible to be able to sing so stable after dancing for 10 minutes. Its just... Not possible, unless your breath control or idk what that is is very very good. So tbh if idols lip sync its totally okay... Idk why they get bashed for that

I don't think that lipsyncing is an issue especially when ppl are dancing at the same time, unless you're lipsyncing at the concert, then it's like not doing your job proberly. Personally I would feel very disappointed if I would go to a concert and had to listen to pre recorded songs. Bigger issue are shows autotuning live performances and making it pitch perfect, then people believing that idols/singers really sound like that irl.

Wtf it's just a backtrack. Gfriend always sings with the music playing in the background. How does their PRE-RECORDED song playing during a twice performance prove that they lip synced?? It would prove that they lip synced if they weren't singing at all. Watch some videos where their songs have stopped multiple times on them and they are always singing. I do agree with this. Especially on tour. I believe a lot of them with parts that aren’t heavily danced to are live but when there’s a lot of movement they use backing tracks which is completely fine. You’d have to think. With the stress on their vocal cords to sing multiple times a week for 1 1/2+ hours on top of choreo it would be INSANE if it were 100%

On stage, they have to dance. Which then causes them to get more tired. I think a background track or just tracks with some voices at certain parts is very needed. I can't dance and sing at the same time, especially if it was choreography like BTS or EXO. Of course there are sometimes that they have to lip sync. When a member is sick or something. But not all idols lip sync and you can tell when you actually experience the stage that they perform. Sometimes, the background track is louder than the actual voice so you could tell when they are singing or not. And sometimes, these idols want to be a bunch of dorks and fool around on stage while the music is playing. :) I appreciate that at the end of the video, it showed what their voices sounded like, otherwise, it could have made people who are not into K-pop, think that all of them lip sync. I don't mean to offend anyone or anything. I just wanted to state the facts that I know. :)

Because theyre idols, idols should have the ability to sing and dance and be stable live, thats the only job they had when singing live, any idol who isnt shouldnt be an idol at all, idols are multitasking talents, back in the days, idols can do all of things related to the word 'idol' including variety, in a group theres only about one or two who is not quite talented. It should be understandable if theyre rookies, but if they were 2 yrs and beyond but still lack the voice and stamina,, they wont do well. Its okay for us international fans because of course, all we see is a video, from sources, its a 2D media, if there was a lipsynced back track while they were doing the choreo right, hell it sounds astounding., But how do you think kfans would feel in that live version, when they can certainly see and hear them? This is why you should trust ifans who support their idols there, if some group is big there, they probably passed the standard way past 2D (also, there are haters tho)

Songs such as cheer up and heart shaker are extremely high and you will just hurt yourself just to try so hard reaching the notes in those songs. And straining yourself just to reach very high notes have bad consequences. I know that it is a disappointment that some groups/soloists lip syncs but sometimes, you just have to see what part of the song did they lip synced. The part that they lip synced might be very high

It amazes me how many people refuse to accept that idols lipsync. Literally almost every group does it (Twice, SNSD, SHINee, Seventeen, etc.) and some of the evidence is impossible to disprove. Lip syncing isn't a sin and doesn't always mean the singers are bad--often times the choreography and performance is too strenuous to sing well with or the idol just doesn't feel confident in reaching the right notes that day. Just chill. Its okay if your favorite idol isn't singing live, there are probably a thousand more things to love them for.

You can't expect them to sing all songs by words, especially on shows/concerts that require them to perform more than one song while dancing. Usually, their pre-recorded songs are used as backgrounds to help with the performance.

no hates tho, but I do understand some of them were lypsinc due to dancing while singing. But I dont understand why they need to lypsinc when it comes to just singing (while standing or sit or even singing in a group/not solo). Especially for a main vocal in the group

Well they are not always in their best condition. So what should they do ? Not promote their songs because their main vocal is not feeling good. They shot 3-4 comeback stages in one day with 2-3 rehearsals. It's hard to maintain your vocal health * if it makes any sense :D* hope this helps

let me clear this misunderstanding up. All idols do pre-recording in all music broadcast so it would cover up mistakes of the idols when it's aired. And yes, most idols do lip-sync as their mic is actually off during live broadcast. So basically the recoreded one is playing. But there are still amazing idol groups out there who don't lip-sync at all and sing live along with the pre-recording. In the video above, for that gfriend radio show, its obvious Eunbi(?) was lip syncing. (Sorry for mentioning only her..its just to ellaborate the example. She's really good at singing, actually) The BG was loud and it looked really obvious. I'll just keep down an example here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHynY2WshNqnqZI Since I'm familiar with IFNT the most. Look at 0:31, Sunggyu forgot some lyrics but you can tell that its live easily. It was a rehearsal before the real and he did well on the live.:) edit: by pre-recording, its not just the bg which is recorded but the whole perf. music broadcast stations also gain a lot from pre recording not just the idols. It gives them time to edit n telecast a good perf. Singers can just use their mv audio but all of us prefer some adlib for it to sound like live. High quality singers will use low bg while singers who aren't confident with their singing skills will use loud bg.

Yea but pre-recorded doesnt exactly mean they should have a backtrack with the live version voices, i only noticed this because highlight's back track is weaker, toned down version of the track, other idols can do that too but they chose the live version back track. I kinda dont understand why idols do need a pre recorded tho, like maybe they can use the song mv audio rather than pre recording every time, i think theyre not pre recording this time around, idk.

Alot of times they are backtracks because they are sick or their voices are strained, or because it's a complicated dance for that song
