KPOP NEWBIE REACTS to Stray Kids' (스트레이 키즈) "CHEESE" | FIRST TIME REACTION

the way I immediately added this song to my kpop (just skz) playlist,,, shows how fun of a song it is! and it is fun! (but I also think it sounds like they're throwing shade).
where else do I go from here? would you guy's wanna see me react to some of stray kids' non-music related videos? what other kpop groups should I check out? plz educate me.

HELLO IM HERE TO EXPLAIN cheese was written and released on the NOEASY (ready as noisy in korean, referring to their "noise music" label created by antis that they proudly embrace) album. cheese essentially is an anthem written for their haters, basically mocking them because they give the same complaints every time they release music. cheese references gods menu, side effects and back door in the opening of the song as those were, at the time of the album release, some of the most criticized songs by antis. the lyrics following the opening such as hyunjins "i am used to being treated like an outsider, an alien," or hans "gonna create chaos with our nonsense now" are just teasers at how the anti fans only drive them to continue their music style because why should they conform to societal standards for traditional k-pop sounds when they have the ability to experiment with their own music? the lyrics "Index finger, middle finger, ring finger, pinky, put them down like, what?" are particularly my favorite, following the lyrics when you put down those fingers it makes a thumbs up, however the adlibs as said by han are different and will get you to put your middle finger up when you follow those lyrics, such a hidden but funny thing to do in an anthem dedicated to your haters haha and the cheeses listed, which were funnily enough mocked by antis for being included bc it is "weird," are all cheeses that are able to be digested by people that have lactose intolerance, it's essentially skz saying "you'll find something that you like with our music if you'd just give it a chance" because of how diverse their discography is and will continue to be. i hope you enjoy being a stay!! tune in for stray kids comeback "ATE" on july 19 🔥🥠

The part with the dinosaur refers to another great song of theirs - Chronosaurus. It's a wonderful analogy for the passage of time.

Cheese is such a hidden treasure. It comes across as a bit 'whoa what' on the first listen, but once you know all the little inside tidbits, it's even funnier. Curious (and apologies for all of the comments on random videos) but have you heard/watched "Side Effects" yet? When I was early in my SKZ journey, I heard that song and was still so new to KPop that I didn't know to turn on subtitles so it just took the song at its music video and overall feel, and I legit ugly cried. Then to find out that it's about being a crossroads with yourself essentially and the pressure to conform and how anxiety just slowly eats away at you... ngl, I still ugly cry sometimes at that song. But I also find it very, very soothing to my soul. I hope you give it a listen and react if you haven't yet!
