For Android users: the standard messages app does not have the spam blocker setting. The 'Android messages' app is the one they're referring to. You need to download that and that has the spam blocker setting. I wish that they had just gotten to the gosh darn point.

Then why does my Moto G Stylus have an "Enable spam protection" switch? Messages > Settings > Spam protection > touch to turn on/off.

It's crazy what consumers pay to be so held captive and enslaved. The way those who pay the most feel good about themselves for it is really weird to me. Paying $1K+ for a device and then more in subscription services doesn't feel like an intelligent-adaptation. It's funny the way individuals seek to be free from one thing by chaining themselves to another demanding thing. 🙄...🤭.(Goofy people...)

My Android has a feature called "Do Not Disturb" and I keep it on and set to only allow contacts to ring through. I can also block numbers. I've been using Do Not Disturb for years and when my phone rings I know it's a contact calling or texting. I started using Do Not Disturb when I lived the lifestyle of an over-the-road driver and slept days because I drove nights and was tired of being awakened by telemarketers and such. I also don't allow my phone to make unnecessary noises. The only time it makes a noise is when a contact calls or texts, I'm playing music or a game. It's also not allowed to vibrate as I can't stand that feeling. It feels as if I'm being shocked.

I don't mind the vibration but the text from all of the Spam Bots cranked up to 11 the last 2 days 2 days. I don't have that feature they're talking about on here. But I do have "do not disturb" and I did just customize it thanks to your comment. Hope this works

@@MrChangeordie I had some success with it it wasn't a complete success however, having the do not disturb feature on calls you're on caused something else to automatically turn on that made it made it a deal breaker for me. I forget what it is at the moment... Spam text.all the deleting and all the blocking is just futile. People suck

Several years ago I was sitting in a truckstop and started getting text messages on my brand new phone and and number. I sent a text back letting them know that I was not whom they thought I was etc. After going back and forth I asked the sender to send me a nude photo of herself. The text messages stopped.

I use Do Not Disturb and set it to only allow contacts to ring through. If a call comes in and is not a contact my phone won't ring but will show in the Call Log. If they don't leave a message I'll block them. If I don't like their message I'll block them. If they text and I don't like it I'll block them but I don't know what happens to blocked text messages.

There isn't on a lot of phones. Idk if this works for iPhone also, but you need to download android messages. THAT has the spam protection setting. The reg. Messages that comes w/ android doesn't have it. Hope this helps.

The carriers could off an incentive to get their service OPT OUT of 'NON AVAILABLE Caller ids. Robo killer on their service. ANYTHING to stop if the paying of the phone does not want these calls. HELP

I just block the number and be done with it. I don't even know when they arrive because I keep Do Not Disturb turned on ALL the time and set to only allow contacts to ring through. Life has been a lot better since I started doing it. Sometimes when I see my phone light when a non-contact call comes I'll answer it in Korean. There's usually silence on the other end for a minute and when I ask who's calling in Korean they hang up and don't call back. Or I'll answer and don't say anything. Make sure there isn't any background noise because sometimes they start to talk to someone else trying to figure out what's going on.
