@@RocknJazzer Yeah but Hellmut had been playing a Rick since '72.
@RocknJazzer5 ай бұрын
@@synthonaplinth5980 And Squire has since 1965 and the main influence on Rick bass players, tho he copied Entwistle for the Rick. Hellmut is prob my fav Rick player of the few that play them, tho not very well known being in a less known german prog band, they have a few elements of jazz fusion in their music, which I prefer over straight prog that is more classical based, and some of their songwriting is out of this world, even still to this day their new stuff is just as good which is amazing when most other 70s bands still around have gone well down hill since
@synthonaplinth59805 ай бұрын
@@RocknJazzer Yeah, they really have an amazing interplay between the individual instruments and some very interesting time signatures. Hellmut is the only bass player I have ever seen who plays sixteenth notes with a pick. He did however, get rid of the Rick (giving it to Karthago's bass player) and use an Ibanez for a while. I forget what kind of bass he uses now.

Saw Kraan live three times around the Frankfurt/Mainz area back around 1980. It was fantastic. The first concert was ion Mains Eltzer hof with the old drummer: fantastic. The second was with Gerry Brown: incredible! The third was with Gerry on drums and a vocalist who always played the keys. Still great, but I didn't like it as much as the other concerts. Still: when Ingo Bischof started hitting the keys, he brought the house down. Wonderful musicians throughout, great wacky German jazz-fusion.
