Sure, there are always more and more features to pursue in any form of tech. If you're looking at particular price points however, the KT2 And KT3 kits seem to offer the greatest bang for your buck. I'm brand new to edrums so my learning curve was steep. Lots of research and limited funds led me to my KT2. I love the sounds and the easy programming interface. Mark was kind and tolerant with my after sales tech questions. By the way Mark, I've started saving for my KT4 module. I should be ready by the time you guys are.

This looks much better than my Alesis dm10 that I used to have. I'll definitely be getting this for the studio and I'll use it with Steven Slate Drums Platinum. I'm pretty exited to get my hands on this eventually :)

These sound better than alesis or simmons. I am wondering how the snare rolls. On a cheap kit, the snare roll just sounds like separate "tat tat tat" without ever sounding smooth.

Hello everybody! I want to ask if can i add,or replace, or drag and drop other-different- drum audio sound sample (such us another snare sample) into my KAT 3 module? And if i can do this, what kind of audio sound sample do I must have to add to make it read and works o.k.? (such as: wav or mp3..etc.. types)

I played a kt2 today and enjoyed it and will most likely pick one up for practicing. Apart from the extra Tom and cymbal you get with the kt3, is there any other differences? is the module/brain the same? thanks to anyone who can answer

hi Mark. My crash cymbals doesn't seems to have the choking feature. Any help will be good if i had missed any of the settings. Thanks
@Drumaddict638 жыл бұрын
+taufiqleftwinger Make sure you don't have the 12" hi-hat pad setup on your crash cymbal arm. Look under the pad and you'll see a label that says hi-hat. That pad should be used as a hi-hat since it is single zone and not dual zone like the crash pads.

People can say what they want about KAT....yeah, they're kits may not have all the looks and "acoustic style" appointments that the Roland kits have, but KAT is a very well known manufacturer of electronic percussion products, and they don't have to put a $7500 price tag on their kits either!!!! Anyone who'd spend almost $8K on a set of electric drums is someone who's got more money than brains. Roland makes those V-Drums to try and emulate the feel and sound of an acoustic kit, and it doesn't....nomatter what you do, NO electronic kit will be the same as an acoustic kit. Not saying they're not cool as hell, but mesh heads, rubber cymbals, and the drum's sound coming out of headphones or an amp is totally different than wood drums and actual bronze cymbals. And for $8K, you could get a pre-owned good set of electronic drums, and a hell of a nice acoustic kit with all the bells & whistles you want, and still probably have money left over. Roland products are superb.....but they're delusional when it comes to their electronic kits.

You people at Kat will love to read this. I'm sending my piece of crap $2,499.99 Roland kit back to Musician's Friend tomorrow & this kit actually looks like what I'm looking for in a kit. Love the fact all actually offer dual triggers on your cymbals, actually offer 4 cymbals & not just 2, & even have a 4th tom. My question is: How are yall's cymbal sound selection? Is there a good variety of Crash, Splash, China, & small Bell cymbal sounds? I'm not looking for whistles, clicks, cow bells, & claps, I need authentic recordings of real cymbals.

I did, but after waiting 2 months on a back order list, it arrived and I was so displeased with it I was on the phone with musicians friend that next day getting my return labels and got it refunded.

I had a similar experience with KAT. I bought their KTMP1 hand percussion pad but sold it within a week. For me it was its terrible MIDI sounds...it reminded me of an 80's drum machine lol.
@TylerNOS3862779 жыл бұрын
It's clear electronic kits are offering crappier sounds and then motivating customers to buy aftermarket sound libraries. This is such a horrible business plan. Why offer a kit for $1,000 then advise your customers to go to some other company to spend 500 additional dollars for better sounds when you could just offer Good sounds with the kit and have a sticker price of $1,500?? That's such a loss of potential profits.
@TylerNOS3862779 жыл бұрын
But for me, it wasn't just a sound issue. You know how you can't speak to def people in a regular calm tone and instead you must scream? Well I say both Roland and KAT, plus probably many other kits, are sensitivity Def, meaning "to get the sounds to trigger full volume you must hit the pads as hard as you can.". This is horrible for Me specifically because I need super sensitivity to do a metal drumming technique which is called a 'Gravity Blast'. On the Roland kit it was barely audible, and the KAT kit would pick up anything.

Personally I love the white color... as I do with most instruments... I'm so sick of every single piece of music equipment, anywhere, just being the same dark grey or black appearance... the red's cool too! I'm more of a blue fan, but that's a pointless things to say lol. If you're worried about a piece of equipment looking 'childish' 'cheap' or 'like a toy' ...then you're probably not doing this for the right reasons. If you don't like it, totally fine...but if you do, and you can play the hell out of them...who cares if they appear toy-like? Sounds may not be the greatest, but these days that is so easily remedied...

After first brief look and listen: 1. Bad aesthetics - because of the colors, has the appearance of a child's kit. Appears cheap, whether or not it is. Guys play music to get girls, and this kit ain't gonna do that. 2. Plastic frame hardware is a big concern, and _is_ cheap. 3. Extra floor tom is an extravagance - should've put resources elsewhere. 4. Needs hi-hat stand. 5. Cymbals lag the field. That's saying something, because most _all_ e-cymbals are nothing to brag about at this point in time. But these are especially bad sounding. 6. Soft bass drum beater is _too_ soft. Good thing you're not stuck with it. 7. Drum pad diameters are _ahead_ of the field. Other makers are really playing this feature as a bait-and-switch to go from smaller to larger. 8. Drums sound good, but everyone has that knocked at this point in time. 9. Appears to have good bang-for-the-buck. 10. Bass pad looks to be actually large enough for double beater, instead of pretending to be. 11. Replacement parts? I can _still_ get parts from Roland for one of their synths made back in the Dark Ages - even trim parts. And I don't have to go through a frickin' Act of Congress to do it. 12. Haven't learned enough about module and tweakability to comment on that at all, or on how much like real drum heads the feel of the pads are.
