The DXR15 is an awesome speaker. SO loud and SO clear and accurate. But the L1mkII is SO lush, it spreads the sound everywhere so sweetly. And the B2 sub is very musical and deep sounding. The L1 never gets in the way of your acoustic music, so when playing together you are just aware of acoustic instruments, but louder. 1 L1 will do you for up to 100 people in acoustic settings no worries. But for a lot less, the DXR15's will do you fine for 200 easy. They are just as accurate sounding,

I have both the DXR15 and 2 of the Bose L1 mkII with 2 B2 subs. The Dxr's are definitely louder. I use them in a wedding for FOH. They are awesome.I use the Bose L1's for Stage monitoring for this band. But i use the Bose L1's for world music gig, up to 200 people no problem. I do sound for acoustic festivals and the Bose L1 mkII is the best PA i have ever heard for acoustic instruments. I play tabla through the L1's with many bands and ALL the musicians agree its the best sound they have had.

IM NEW TO PA SETUPS CAN YOU USE THE DXR10 [2 FOR STERIO ] AND ONE DXS12 SUB ,,,WOULD THAT STILL BE A NICE BALANCE ,,,THANKS

Should I connect the signal cable to the DXS sub , and from the sub THRU to the DXR? Or the other way round (DXR to DXS)?

I own 2 DXR 10's and 2 DXS 15 inch subs. If your running both subs and tops then yes, run first to Sub then out to both 10's. However, I have found the only configuration that works with just one sub is, run one XLR cablethe Sub, one up to a top then use run an XLR cable from that top to the other top via the link out. Could never get it to work with two XLR cables in to one sub then out to both tops independently. This may be an issue with my virtual DJ software though. Anyhow, the speakers are awesome! Wow Matt. many congratulations on what has got to be by any stretch of the imagination, a superb and informative video. Very clearly explained and well filmed. Thankyou for going to all that trouble, its appreciated. I was thinking of buying a Bose L1 model 2 system with their 2 x5 bass bin for my acoustic duo. I worry I ll be underpowered. Would I be better with 2 x DXr 10s and 1 x 12inch sub by Yamaha? ( is this configarable ) I want 'A' quality sound and car boot portability. Please help.

Where do you get the Yamaha Speaker Covers? we have yet to see them here in Australia and have been told they will be available next year.
