It's totally ridiculous that Kraftwerk earning a lifetime achievement award only has one low-res video. They should have been front and center on the Grammy's show. I can't believe how many people do not understand that the genres of dance, pop, ambient, and hip-hop were all fundamentally altered and/or laid down by Kraftwerk.

I (re)discovered how great and interesting it was. Filling big holes in my musical knowledge. I totally fell in love with Kraftwerk, again. But this time with bigger respect, appreciation and pleasure. Florian being the oldest member left Kraftwerk years ago and I was already wondering how he would be doing these days. I was listening to their music yesterday evening in my garden. This morning I was shocked, reading that Florian passed away. He made his last journey, not on the Autobahn, not by TEE or bicycle, but from Düsseldorf straight back to where his music came from, Himmel hoch. RIP Florian.

Ralph is the only one that actually "plays" live on stage but not all the time. Most of the show consists in synthetizers playing live by themselves. Two of the three other "robots" amuse themselves playing with EQ's and filters; exceptionnaly, Henning Schmitz plays very little tidbits. The third "robot" (the newest member) handles the video portion of the show. Kraftwerk do not give live performances as they used to do in the 70's and 80's.
