I may sound dumb, but this is the *FIRST time* I hear Fritz's voice in my entire life. I never had the opportunity to find a decent footage with his voice, and he was the only remaining member whose voice was a mystery to me. This footage is pure gold. You finally get the opportunity to see the stage and Kling Klang Studio from an entirely different perspective. The close-ups to the equipment and the robot dummies are unique. Thank you so much for sharing this. It must be preserved!

Ralfs keyboard is beautiful, I believe it to be a late model Synclaviar with its computer terminal stored in the rack behind, I think Florians keyboard is a Yamaha DX series, but he seems to have an Akai sampling module in the rack behind him possibly the S1000 or S4000.

In the rack it is only computer to load sound files. The terminal is standing in the middle between Hennings and Fritzs consoles behind the rack. We can clearly see floppy disk drive standing on top of Synclavier main terminal

Florian seems to be using a Yamaha DX-100. It's pretty common amongst talkbox users. I wonder if he used that to control the Robovox or for something else. His seems to be the barest in terms of equipment in the console itself.

@@Blank_Frank Thanks for the reply and link Frank. If you watch the footage Fritz quite clearly says " Do not film the equipment. He also at one point when they are filming him and the studio motions to for them to film The Robots not him. In my opinion the crew were there to film The Robots and this is what takes place at the end of the footage. What ended up in the final edit was probably not what was intented by was passed by Ralf for broadcast.

This might be the only footage we'll ever see of the Robovox. It looks quite cool. Is that some sort of tape recorder shown at 4:10 On Schneider's console? I'd also like to know the keyboard on his console. It appears to be a 4 octave keyboard, but as far as I know, there were not many 4 octave keyboards back then. Also at 6:54, Ralf's keyboard is more simpler than I thought, but then again, it also looks more complex at the same time. I imagined more faders than buttons. Ralf's console is the only console without a Cooper Fadermaster. Those buttons must be presets, and I think those note cards tell Ralf which instruments are located in each button. I think some research must be done to figure out what kind of a keyboard this is. I would have loved to have seen more of Fritz's Drum console. It fascinates me more than the rest of the Kling Klang Studio. My overall take from this footage is that Kraftwerk was very far ahead of their time. Thanks for the video footage!

Actually Florian's keyboard looks very similar to a DX7, but the DX7 is a 5-octave keyboard, not a 4 octave keyboard...

Florial has a Yamaha DX100 probably used only as a MIDI controller. Ralf's using a Synclavier with a custom aluminium-finish panel, very cool. Henning's MIDI keyboard probably is custom made, as far as I can see it has 70 keys, very unusual. Robovox unit probably is the lowest piece of equipment in the second rack starting from the right, shame this is not high quality!

I'm pretty sure each member has been allowed to keep their likeness. For example, Karl Bartos has (at least) his late 70's/early 80's Robot Likeness. He used his own Robot for his latest album (Off the Record) artwork.

from 1993 onwards this drum pads disappeared from fritz console and use from then only buttons and controls of some MIDI controller.
