There's a rumor, that the most fearsome CMDR of the pilots federation faced off against two medusa class interceptors alone and he won albeit his hull was left at 33% integrity. On his way to Jameson Memorial, while he was making a coffee, he tripped on an exposed wire on the floor and hit is head on a counter... His demise thus came in an unexpected manner.... Some say, he never existed, after all, no one seems to know his name. Others tell this story to their child as a way to teach there's no escaping death, when death comes it gets you one way or another. Others yet, do believe this rumour, and are out there in deep space looking for his lost ship, still no results. I for one, always order my crew to cover any exposed wires on the floors and walls...

I have literally every ship in the game save for the Beluga, and yeah... the Krait is now my favorite medium sized ship too. Honestly these days I'd say it's my favorite ship overall. I love the Krait, it’s become my favorite ship. Awesome for multi-role. It feels like a zippier Python with the views of an Asp Explorer. Looks amazing in VR, fun to fly... I even love the wires everywhere. Looks like I’ve modded it myself, Han Solo style. And the positioning of those class-2 hard-points is genius. And I love the antennae on the wings - without those it wouldn’t be a Krait, so they are essential to the look. Nothing wrong with bringing more classic ships from the original games back as an updated model - personally I love that. So definitely with Obsidian Ant on this one. I'm sure someone has pointed out that a lot of military and civilian vessels have exposed cables to allow for ease of access for repair and replacement. Look up in any passageway of a modern warship and you can see them running overhead.
@NomadSoul766 жыл бұрын
Londoz can you see them dangling down just waiting to get snagged on something, though? They're only exposed here because they're hanging out of the spaces they're supposed to be in, as if the wiring work was done poorly and too much slack was left in them. I would hope that military wiring is at least as precise as network wiring.
@maxoz16 жыл бұрын
I was thinking you were wrong so I had a look, nope you're right, and I also noticed on the left just behind the main chair there is a large cable running to the co-pilot console. Huge trip hazard. Maybe that's why we don't have space legs.

In all seriousness, as a VR user, holy SHIT does this ship look better than other ships. ObsidianAnt mentioned the textures were still too low-res but they're higher-res than many ship interiors and the selection of textures and materials are excellent. There's tons of little details (including the ladder to get up to the upper level mostly folded away, and the coffee maker/model). The green color is horrific but I'd honestly say that Krait looks like the most realistically lived-in ship in the game with the highest level of detail. Compare to the also 3-seater Anaconda, which is a giant empty expanse of 30 foot console with just a few sparse controls on it and empty flooring and everything looks like bland plastic. Exterior looks good, too, a bit more detail-work than most other ships. It feels like Frontier's art process has been getting better over time, with one exception: Aforementioned Anaconda and Federal Corvette. Two very early ships but both had their interiors entirely redesigned when multicrew came out. Anaconda had a crescent pattern to the seats and way more extraneous consoles which helped fill out the space and corvette had one seat actually facing perpendicular to the pilot's seat and a bunch of extra displays. Both of them lost their extra displays/consoles and had their seats moved and rotated to face forward. Was probably because other directions made people sick in VR but the result is that they have some of the worst interiors in the game now--and this happened midway through Horizons, so it's not excused for being early in the dev process. Might have been a quick hack job to fit into the multicrew release schedule, though.
