Your getting angles never seen before in the history of collecting video footage of eruptions! Really man, amazing shots!
@ph11p35406 жыл бұрын
I think he was using a professional camera drone for that footage. Really great shots. Better than sending a manned aircraft or helicopter in for safety reasons. Edit Addendum: Most drones in private use including the high end professional drones have an additional critical advantage over any helicopter or regular aircraft in that they are electrically powered and are not dependent on turbine forced air. This makes drones more resistant to FOD damage from volcanic micro silicate damage that's invisible but present in and near volcanoes. An electric drone can get really close to or on top of volcanoes so long as they do not melt from intense heat or lightning bolt strike. Electric drones are the perfect observation tool for the volcanoligist.

And two months after this was shot, this volcano caused the unexpected tsunami that killed hundreds. When the previous version of Krakatau destroyed itself in 1883, the tsunami killed about 36,000 people.
@wahyunithamron90026 жыл бұрын
@Donald Kasper there is no earthquake before the tsunami, tsunami usually happen after an earthquake.. the son of krakatoa was eruption since 2013 and though on august the eruption was going smaller.. there is a landslide under water of the krakatoa's son that caused tsunami, my english sucks.
@nomnomanimations11076 жыл бұрын
@Donald Kasper there were no earthqueake even people didnt expect it to happend... and it also happend during an event near the beach too..
@hebneh6 жыл бұрын
@Donald Kasper The tsunami was unexpected because there was no obvious evidence that it had been generated, which was due to a landslide, possibly underwater. Since Krakatau hasn't been doing anything dangerous (till now), there was no reason to anticipate this. But yeah, now that it's happened, and for as long as the eruption continues, it would be a damn good idea to place tsunami-sensing buoys around the island. This could go on for years into the future.

@ph11p35406 жыл бұрын
Probably a few. High end professional grade drones are way cheaper than the cheapest aircraft including ultralights. You can bet a lot of professional volcanoligists are earning drone pilots licences and asking their university faculty for professional drone procurement. This is much cheaper and safer than sending a person up to the volcano to see things up close and personal plus a birds eye view is a lot more informative than at ground level. This is the future for volcanology
