Yeah I’m right there with ya bro. I’m already negotiating in my head if I should swap to building a GBBR M4 Carbine. I’ve been wanting to do something along the lines of a early 2000s build with a old school quad rail, aim point comp, and and PEQ…. But now an AEG just seems too boring.

GBBRs are expensive, and even being expensive they still run into problems. You need to maintain them, learn how they work, know where to find parts and how to install them. They got way heavier, more expensive magazines with lower capacity. But the moment you start to shoot them all the hassle goes away, because they feel like guns not electric toys.

I just want to acknowledge how open minded you are. I really appreciate your perspectives because I find myself in the same boat soo often. I totally agree on the kills thing. I also have gotten to a place where for me it’s less about the game and more about the community I have been able to forge with countless memories of trips, meals, and games. People are the gold of the sport. The nerds, the larpers, the competitors, the creatives. So much fun can be had just based off of community!! I love Milsim. I love larping. I love having badass kit that just makes me feel like I’ve invested in something I value and enjoy. Simultaneously I love SpeedQB and speedsoft. The futuristic vibe of the loadouts and competitive focus are all too fun to abandon. At this point, I’ve come to a place of balance where I want and need both to be fully satisfied. I appreciate the play styles and loadouts of both.

GBBR's are awesome. Been running my GHK AK for 2 years and just started going to bigger milsims with it. It's a lot more practical than you might think and not as much gas as you'd expect. 100% recommend getting a GHK AK soon because who knows if China will invade Taiwan lol

Hey man,i got into the gbbr world a year ago and my recomendation is to get a tokyo marui mws or the tokyo marui akm,since the parts are easy to find and you can play with them out of the box without any tinkering.If you want to upgrade them,the basic part you need to change is the hop up bucking and if you feel fancy puting on an mpas,G&P makes the best mpas at the moment and its really cheap. Another good part about the mws system is that the bolt catch doesn't break unlike the vfc ones and the mags are really good,the gun works even in winter which is one of the biggest complains of gbbr users. As someone who mainly plays with a GBBR been having my We Tech Scar H since it released and has been my main gun. (Except when it’s too cold and don’t have the proper gas to play, I end up using my AEG scar L and P90 instead) People don’t like GBBR’s cause of maintenance, cost per mags. (A Scar-H’s magazine cost around $80 per) But in reality it’s not that hard to maintain the GBBR I only clean my gun after 3-4 times of normal games or after a 1-2 long day of Milsim, but usually it’s like the end of the month when I clean the gun. Only bad Thing I can say is parts will break but can be easily replaced :)

I highly recommend a VFC 416a5 GBBR or a GHK MK18 both are absolutely mosters. GHK has some pretty good AKs too

GHK makes an AUG A3 gbbr, and I always really wanted to get that gun as a huge fan of the AUG in BF3. The idea of a gas AK is so hard to resist though, just feels like it takes such great advantage of the impact of a gbbr!

As you said, kinda over the get-as-many-kills as you can phase myself also and just recently added an gbbr to my collection myself to spice up the game. I'm rocking an TM MWS now, I have no experience with other platforms/brands but I definitely do not regret my choice and can recommend it for sure. With the limited ammo you definitely want something solid and accurate, I've only put in an Maple Leaf bucking, sighted in my reddot for about 25m and it just shoots lasers in cqb (I mainly use it indoors)

If i remember it correctly WE have a dual HPA/Green gas drum mag for their gbbr m4? (and hi capa, and glock) And you can lighten and shorten the trigger pull and lighten the bolt in a gbbr, and it is pretty easy since it is all mecahnical.

Maby consider trying the Tippmann HPA M4. It’s a GBBR but runs on hpa and regular aeg mags. So much fun. Also the TM NGRSs are quite nice with slight recoil and you can switch the mags to be 30rd.

Ah finally you've reached the peak, doesnt it feel good. I built a gbb ak 74 with full lct zenitco furniture. Only I used a WE base which comes with a full travel bolt, cost about 200 for full steel ra tech internals, and the stock hop up with maple leaf bucking and barrel is stupid accurate. And cost about half of a ghk ak with the same upgrades I love aegs, but upgrading gas guns are my secret dirty passion. For you, I think the tippmann m4 would be the perfect blend of hpa,aeg,and gbbr

Ive got a we with those parts, absolutely love it but have had issues with WE quality springs like the hammer spring with heavier ra tech parts. Literally only needed to reverse the spring and I havent had any issues even down to 30F. My only issue is the mags since they are heavy as fuck

@@codemy666 hey thanks for catching that I ment to say ak74u. The base was the we ak74 gbbr that I then put the lct zenitco top and bottom handguard, pistol grip, stock, side rail mount, and muzzle break on. The only thing I didnt have was the lct top railed dust cover. The top handguard required a spacer to sit snugly, I had to dremel out the hole for the zenitco folding stock to fit the pin in, file the nubs on the zenitco pistol grip, and modify the zenitco side rail to fit over the iron sites.

Ghk bro here. Got the ak and the m4 and they are fantastic for a challenge. I'd advise people to try it atleast for a round or a game. Nice different playstyle:)

If you want an AK: GHK If you want an M4: TM MWS, GHK is close but I cannot recommend it over the MWS. The TM is just more well thought out and will last much longer while retaining 100% functionality. There are 3 patents associated with the ZET platform, and they are all very innovative!

I got a WE 74 pmc used from an Evike employee a year ago and so far dont want to buy any other aeg unless to convert like my as val. I wish more people used gbbrs, they make the sport way more fun. Doesnt help that companies all have their issues and love to make things similar but maybe not compatability (Magna system woes).

Get the tippmann, and put a heavy bolt in there. It’s an Hpa GBBR that uses aeg mags. I have 2 and I love them

Ghk g5 is a real blast balancing speedsoft and tactical. Got pretty nice trigger response, got a pretty hard blow back, got 40rnds and hv ambidextrous mag release. Plus it's real light with that solid polymer body. Inner barrel is aeg type so u can basically swap those to match the fps rating easily Edit: just found some hpa drum mags for it as well lol.

Based on what I have handled, we m4 if you want something inexpensive but more prone to leaks, breaking and other internal problems and may shoot hotter which is obv not good indoors. Ghk and Vfc m4s are quite pricey or maybe some of it but you get what you pay for when it comes to quality and enjoyment. Less problems here but yeah mags and gas prices isnt a joke. I havent used my ghk for game but i use it for training and it held up pretty well. Ive dropped it on soil, soil+gravel intentionally and unintentionally but still works. one issue i had is the receiver play where it isnt as fit as it should be. I highly suggest checking it before purchasing because it kinda sucks hearing your rifle wobble while shooting and running.

As far as maintenance, man I think gbbrs are so much easier to maintain, clean, and fix. Yes, it have to clean them more often, but man when something breaks it usually takes at most 30 minutes to diagnose, you order the part and replace and you're good to go. Spoiler, it's probably related to the nozzle. They are such easy guns to service because the number of moving parts, and it's mechanical nature make them incredibly approachable.

100% AGREE with the point you make about kills not being the most important thing, its about going out, having a good time with old friends and making new ones in the process, while playing a game that we all enjoy, just some good hearted bb slinging. If you wanna go out and try to get the most kills thats fine with me too, as long as you are a mature and good sport about it when you do get hit or there is a disagreement. all these fights and flipouts and cheaters are not the way

If you want an.... AR: then go with Vipertech, VFC or TM MWS AK: GHK or WE if you're feeling spicy, GHK AKs have way better aftermarket support tho AUG: GHK Scar: WE (although VFC makes one too, not too sure how good they are) MP5/G3: WE or VFC There are also MP7s and MP9s but i'm not sure if they're worth recommending that much compared to others

I think a big part of it is the technology has come a long way. I bought a king arms m4 years ago and it didn't even last a game before it shit the bed. Beautiful gun but not something you can skirmish with. Nowadays with TM and GHK, its hard to say no to them

If you want a recommendation and parts are a concern any tm gbbr will do the job. They have good quality also. If you don't mind trying a different brand ghk is great ( I'd hang fire for now with them. Qc has went down and they are out of stock in most places)

If you can snipe one, a TM MWS is the king of M4 GBBRs. Top tier reliability, works through the cold, and is CQB ready out of the box. GHK and newer VFCs are also pretty worth it for the money, but ya gotta source an NPAS to lower their fps for CQB arenas like Siege.

Ima buy a WE m4 gbbr people say its kinda meh but I don't have money and WE tech in my experience is really durable with proper maintenance. have a glock 17 (still have its 2 y/o) dropped it a couple of times and became a donor gun to my g18 but it still fires. Over all really reliable.

@@jordang2120 As long as you regularly mantain a gbbr it will be just as reliable as a aeg tbh. They can be used in the cold you just cant spam the trigger. In my opinion its easier to maintain just because they can be broken apart in seconds. I started using gbbr last year kinda never want to use my aegs anymore haha.
