I’ve been living abroad for 10 years now. This made me feel homesick and tear up with pride

As people here have pointed out, the Polonaise (polonez) is Poland's national dance, also danced in high schools at promotion events. Many foreigners also think (because of its name) that the Polka is Polish, too. Well it's not, it's Czech.

Thanks for filming . On Saturday the dance was preformed in Mały Rynek. Poland is trying to put Polonaise as a Polish dance on UNESCO heritage list . Iffy weather deterred many people but costumes from Cracovia Danza group were beautiful Weather was not too kind for the 2 days of Krakòw Dance weekend. Next weekend its nigh of theaters, and a week after night of Jazz musik.

Polonez used to be also caled “chodzony”/walked You dont really dance. If you can walk, you can do it This “dance” used to happen at opening of a ball, even elderly joined. What followed depended on an epoch: waltz, kadrill, square dance (not really) etc.

Przepiekny patriotyczny accent .

Congratulation over a 1, 2 thousands viewers in just less then one day. You have been linking me to my city, as due to pandemic not able to travel to Krakòw. You also link Cracovians to other places in their city ( one can not be in few places at once) Your filming is so special, is clear , direct its like walking with you and tasting the food, reading menu in the restaurant or dancing Polonez For some reason Krakòw information Magiczny Krakòw fails lately to inform residents about festivals. Because you film and publish your videos on the day, Im able to tell my best friend ( who lives in Krakòw about food festivals) and she quickly goes shopping after your recomendation🤣👍. I wish you speed recovery after your eye operation. Come back to us quick. Greetings to Nina.💚👌

We are very happy to hear this feedback. We had expected the videos to be watched by tourists or future tourists and did not expect the response we have had from Poles. Thank you about my eye, fingers crossed about that. My videos will be better when I can use two eyes again! Nina says Hi :)
