How loudspeakers work. Why I love audiophiles, not. Fast woofers? Slow Woofers? Music micing. To long this time I will keep the next one to 15 minutes.
Figured out how to enable comments. I have no idea how that was disabled.

Sing along with Mitch ... I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Mitch, as my parents blind date was to catch Mitch Miller, circa '57ish. Also, I too appreciated Audio magazine back then ... the best measurements from industry greats, an AES who's who. Heyser, Keele, countless others. It was very good for a very long time. An incredible resource. Appreciate the video.

Thanks. Yeah the great resources are going the way of the Dodo all to quickly. Speaker Builder is gone. What's left of it in AudioXpress is a faint shadow of the projects that were done 30 years ago. I let my subscription lapse as I really don't find anything interesting in that magazine any longer. And I feel sad about that. I do read Voice Coil though. Still informative. Mark

@@KravchenkoAudioPerth Agreed Vance and Voice Coil are still going. I've still got all my Speaker Builder mags ... the late 80's was when I consumed every word. These days everything imaginable is available to us. Currently, I'm more consumed with acoustics, propagating physics, studio/listening room sound, proaudio sub arrays.

@@FOH3663 Noice, in your best Cockney accent. So you are in this evil business yourself?

@@KravchenkoAudioPerth Nope, not really ... I'm essentially retired. Two parallel careers; one in the electrical industry, the other in pro audio, ie., primarily live FOH engineer, with an aside into studio and mastering work. I've been involved in the largest live events, on behalf of both the house side, and the side of the act/performer. I still dabble w/mix, editing, mastering at home. I've accumulated countless hours of my own recordings, everything from steam locomotives, to live to two-track captures of live music. Early 70's, my Dad and I would film and record trains, ... vintage steam locomotives to modern freight and passenger. Railfans We meet an acquaintance of his and he's got a full size reel-to-reel stereo deck, a pair of mics ... in the back of a beautiful Firebird Formula. From that day on, ... I was hooked on live to two-track stereo! (thus propelling me down the path of playback at realistic live levels, daunting yes)

@@FOH3663 Totally awesome. TO few people understand what a great recording can do. And how loud stuff actually is. Steam Locomotives being one of the toughest things to recreate. The dynamics. And the frequency range is astonishing. Nice to meet a person that knows his stuff. Thanks for the story! Mark

Like the video. I've read that klipschorns can reproduce a car door slamming. I later found out that my BFM David speakers can do a good job in this test as well.

Thanks! Good to know that you have tried a real life test. Spread the idea! More people should do this type of test.
