Trauma? The good thing though about Kraven is that it embraced the R-rating. Morbius was PG-13 iirc. Never watched Morbius, so I can't give an honest critique about its writing and production.

R rated in the UK is a 15 rated movie usually unless it’s really gory or sexual and would be 18 rated so teenagers can still watch the movie which is why R rated does well in the UK

Same here. Plus, I have heard parents included new ones and elderly people who have experience seen films (whatever genres it is), neither PG15 nor PG18 when they're teenagers by from the 1960s to 2010s movies in cinema by sneaky or getting an adults and knowing the age classification and contents that they're into. Also, I saw some re-release classic movies last year and in 2024 at Picturehouse to celebrate them. It needed to be engaged, daring, and compelling in the narrative structure and others to be competent.

Without a doubt, Rihno makes a lot of her design shine in her version of the comics, totally. And I'm fascinated and one of the things I support that Sony has done. And with the tone of violence, I still think Venom deserved it... hopefully this year we will be impressed with Kraven and Venom!!

The thing with the "PG-13 drawing in more audience" is that, Rated R will still get a ton of people REGARDLESS. Literally I was in Deadpool & Wolverine and people deadass had kids sitting at that movie, why? idk but hell they had kids in there so it doesn't even really matter anymore

Agreed and some of them are tolerant and mature when watched it. That's happened to me with my first viewing of Deadpool and Wolverine (2024) with the rated R (PG15) in my cinema venue in London as long the teenagers (I'm talking about preteens) with an responsibility adults in present with photos ID (real ones not fake). Plus, I have heard a story that some parents included first-time ones to elderly people have experience seen Rated R (PG15) or X Rated (PG18) by sneaky into cinema from the 1960s to 2010s when they're teenagers (included preteens) without hesitation but read the age classification in those movies. As long their story and characters, fight choreography, and a few others are fun, daring, and entertainment to watched with competent team and EP who are comfortable to show in public cinema.

For every Madame Web and Morbius movie, Sony hits back with the Into the Spiderverse movies. Sony isn’t completely bad with comic book movies. This trailer got me hyped a bit for Kraven. My first exposure to Kraven was from the Spiderman animated series in the 90s. Dude was badass and from the trailers I’m getting that same vibe from Aaron Taylor Johnson. He’s a good actor. MCU wasted him on a one time character rather than making him a stable. After watching this trailer, dude could had been a top contender to play Wolverine.

#StruggleNation ... Remember when they created PG-13 there were NO COMPUTER GAMES IN HOMES! All we had then Pong, which were a bunch of white lines and a dot going across the screen... 40 years ago I remember going for the first time to see a PG-13 with my best friend and we didn't know if we were going to see Blood or Breast.... Turns out it was a bit of both! LOL But kid in the 1970s going to the Movies was exciting.... It was one of the few places we got to go without our parents... We could be Loud, throw Popcorn and talk to Girls.... IT WAS GREAT!!!

Everytime one of these comes out I get excited and then at some point in the movie you see where they diverted the story to be more "original" and instead of enjoying the "new direction", I end up not being able to immerse myself in the story. I can't think of anything outside of who owns what IP. These movies just have a stink of greed and the inability to give us the proper representation of the character due to that very greed. The whole time I'm watching it's like the movie is screaming "We own it so nananana boo boo." In my face. It feels like five finger death Punch being paid for the rights of "House of the rising Sun" or Gene Simmons owning the right to the money bag emoji. It just feels wrong but there's nothing we can do about it. But it does influence the way I feel about the movies. Kraven looks really good in the trailer but I almost wish they changed the name and made it their own thing. Or if they are going to do a separate venom universe then there's no reason it can't exist within the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man world. People will go to theaters to see two separate Spider-Man universes. It's not really that confusing. Give Disney the rights to Tom Holland and let them have creative freedom but still take a check for it while simultaneously making their own separate Spider-Man universe with Venom, Andrew Garfield, and Morbius. It's so easy. But these stand-alones keep disappointing.

tbh Venom starring Tom Hardy couldve been a rated R, its just like making wolverine movies pg 13 even tho wolverine was a violent character always (besides Logan). You see some clips from Venom 1 and let there be carnage and realize that the production hides the violence part, i still remember the prison escape scene from let there be carnage, they just forcefully made it a pg 13

Heres my take on on how ratings should be for comic renditions.... Cartoons: PG to PG13 Movies: R only...... Or in my province, 14A (we dont do R ratings here). Yes, that means DP&W is rated 14A here, even though its R in other parts of Canada.
