One of the most positive songs I've ever heard. It is simultaneously 'fuck it all' thrash and also about renewing your spirit and making all your baggage disappear from your life. So glad Kreator just stayed themselves in the 90's. They seriously are one of the only bands I know that just get better with age. Also very musically well though with the subject matter in that it starts and ends on the same droning chord.

This song (and the whole album that it came from) took a long time for me to get into. Not for any real reason other than in my younger days I didn't want to hear Kreator experiment too much. Lately I hear it with a different ear, I like it alot. Great lyrics too

when this album came out I'm pretty sure everyone was expecting another typical thrash album along the lines of coma of souls but instead was surprised when Kreator had infact reinvented their sound and came back with something more experimental and I'm glad they went this direction and didn't just "play it safe". One of my Faves for sure!

I like this album. And I remember my classmates in the early nineties, we all listened Kreator. And generic opinion was that Renewal is a less aggressive album, but still very good one. Maybe some more listening needed than Extreme Aggression or such classics.

Den Typen haben sie wirklich ins Gehirn geschissen. Als Jugendlicher hab ich Kreator verehrt. Dieser gnadenlose Thrash. Schnell, agressiv, kompromisslos und trotzdem Melodisch. Dazu Milles hell kreischende Vocals. So kannte ich Kreator bis zum Coma Of Souls Album. Mit Renewal starb Kreator für mich aber sowas von...... Ich meine . . . . Hört euch die Scheiße hier an. Und dann im Vergleich nen Album wie Coma Of Souls, dem direkten Vorläufe, bei dem die Band noch ganz bei Trost war. Nach weiteren 2 Alben war mir damals klar, dass die das mit dieser Industrial Scheiße wirklich ernst meinten und ihren Stil nun dauerhaft in diese richtung geändert haben und ich gab jede Hoffnung auf. Eine Welt brach komplett zusammen. Das vergesse ich nie und das verzeihe ich auch nie! Von mir aus kann sich die Band auch heute mal gepflegt vom Acker machen

MrVorion Seit dem Renewal Album hab ichs immer mal son Bisschen am Rande mitverfolgt. Die haben ihre experimentelle Masche lang, wirklich sehr lang durchgezogen. Wirklich erst seit den letzten 3 Alben kehren sie wieder zu ihren Wurzeln zurück. Mal abgesehen von den Vocals. Das mag aber daran liegen, dass seine Stimme dieses helle aggressive Gekreische von ganz früher nicht mehr mitmacht ;-) Abgesehen davon sind die letzten paar Alben wieder okay. Jedoch . . . . . Da liegt jetzt einfach zu viel Zeit dazwischen. All die Jahre, in denen die Fans durch diesen völlig sinnlosen Stilbruch abgefuckt wurden...... Einer Band gibt man in der Regel 2-3 Alben Zeit, bis man sagt "okay, das wars dann wohl". Aber die haben den Scheiß ja wirklich weit über ein Jahrzehnt durchgezogen. Ich denke, das ist dann einfach ne Frage des Prinzips

Renewal was my second Kreator album after "Extreme Agression" and I was shocked when I listened: a complex sound, well done mixing and still a brutal music. Another 'face' of the oldie-loved thrash metal. Some people dont like 'changes' in the band style, but sometimes we need a change to make it better all that we're doing ever.

Pleasure to Kill was simply a how-to for up and coming bands in the 80's...The newest albums from Kreator are epics that will, as Kreator has done, get better with time.

I HATED this album when I first heard it. It was released right after Coma of Souls and the first time I heard it, it was not what I was expecting at all. I ended up lending it to buddy who told me to listen to it again 'cause it rocked. Now this is probably one of my favorite Kreator albums and the best of their experimental stage. I wish they'd make another album in the same vein.

@metalheadzack, Kreator is not the only one that failed back in the day, almost all thrash did, Remember Sepultura, Exodus, Forbidden, Testament, Overkill, Destruction, Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, Annihilator, Coroner, Megadeth, Xentrix... I Still don't understand what happened in the head of their records labels but it was not for the best, Thrash demise is a fact and that was long time before internet came up! Great news is that almost all those bands are back on track!

@MPetrozzaIsGod Nothing personal with guys that genuinely dislike Kreator's experimental records. But people who just bash a band or an album in order to be cool, kinda piss me off. I think if Kreator continued playing stuff like Coma of Souls, they would come to obscurity and become stale. They experimented, and then pulled off albums like Violent Revolution, Enemy of God (my personal favorite) and Hordes of Chaos, which is a culmination of both their classic days and them experimenting.
