This video is misleading. Please do not attempt to replicate this process and expect results. For instance the "baked cactus emulsion" shown at 3:50 is a green towel.

@vlatepes1901 if you happen to be a mobile device increase your resolution and pinch out to zoom in. You will find that there is a distinct pilling throughout the center of the object and a smooth woven border area. This object is distinctly different from the "emulsion" shown in previous scenes where the surface is consistently glossy. Side note... I must also state that given the apparent effort taken to make this video, considering the different sets and multiple shots, that I believe that the creator of the video has the potential to make good diy content. The intention of my original comment was not to put down the video creator but rather to prevent viewers from treating it as informative content when it should be for entertainment purposes only. I know the statement above is long winded but I thought it best to establish my lack of mal intent.

What came out of the oven was not actual cactus leather, you could tell it was replaced with real dyed leather, the pattern on the leather gave it away, that pattern should not have been on the baked cactus, in fact the baked cactus paste would not even be like that at all.

They drill a hole at the top to hang them......... from the bottom. Clearly it's being hung upside down. Yet you showed them drilling it from the top. Why hang them at all? Hanging them just to wet them then cut them up seems patently absurd. So either they really like making the job much more labor intensive or this video is leaving out some relevant information. I can only assume it's the latter. Showing how something is done by not showing how it's done seems pretty absurd as well.

Wow, I had no idea you could make leather from cactus! This process is truly fascinating and creative. From preparing the cactus pieces, grinding them into a paste, dyeing and baking them, to processing the wood bark and combining everything into the final product - it’s all meticulous and artistic craftsmanship. The end product is not only beautiful but also sustainable, perfect for those who love handmade items and care about the environment. An amazing innovation!
