Nice review. I think I'll be buying a Kerg. The Festool is out of my budget for now. Also, Hello from the NL!

Thanks for your feedback and i would say if you use it occasionally and you are on a budget it is a good choice. En de groeten uit NL terug

I would rather make a tenon template for router. Cheaper, same or better result and most likely simpler.

That would be also a great job. I like this jig but i would always buy the domino machine. Safe me a lot of time so it will pay back after all.

would you use it?

I would have to say no as well. First off, the fact that I would have to use Festool tenons for a better fit comes into play. Secondly, with all that "wiggle" it would give me, I figure I can get the same results if I were to use biscuits. The Festool domino is way out of my budget. But that's not to say that I would never buy one when they lose their patent and the price comes down, or at least when another company comes out with something very much like the Festool domino. Until then I will put my money out on a good dowel jig.

A lot of setup, room for human error, cumbersome.

Agree it comes with those compromises that is way i say you cant compare this with the festool jointer. It is a nice jig for starters of hobbyists.
