To be fair, anyone running Atla as the head of an EDH deck should have a target on them anyway. May force you into Naya, but her ability is super nasty if you build around it right.

@@anthonyhansel9175 I have an Atla deck, it's built as a dino/egg tribal just for fun and the fact my play group is pretty casual. Cheating out an Apex Altisaur might not be as powerful but it will definitely attract less attention than a Blightsteel.

I am SO tired of seeing 5C "good stuff Golos" piles stomp other decks. I see that blasted pilgrim in the thumbnail and only click to see if it loses. What a shock, it didn't. >=[

But what more did you want from poor Golos? He's just an insane value engine, nothing else... when you got to spend 7 mana on an ability, heck that should worth at least one bullet!!

You can see my decklist here (it will be added to the description later on) archidekt.com/decks/55175 (some small changes has been made after this video was recorded) It's good stuff for sure, but it's pretty far from the cEDH version of it. There are no infinite combos and almost no interaction with the opponents board - it's all about playing it's own game bigger and scarier than your opponent.

To this day I don't understand what WotC were thinking when they printed Golos. Did they not stop and think 'hey guys this is probably too strong and renders every other 5Color commander pointless'? If the ban list was ever to be updated soon, I would pay good money to see Golos banned. He is just too strong.

@@BrutalDavy Both of those adhere to a specific deck construction. However, Golos can do anything any other deck does but better. Like, Golos is a better 5C dragon commander than both Scion AND Ur-Dragon. That's absurd.

Forgive me if I’m reading this wrong, but doesn’t Decimate *not* require four targets...? I’ve copy and pasted the ruling... “You no longer need four distinct targets for Decimate. If the spell or ability uses the word target in multiple places, the same object or player can be chosen once for each instance of the word “target.” For example, you could choose Tree of Tales for both the artifact and the land. You still need a legal target enchantment and creature as well.”

Distinct refers to each target being different. What that ruling is saying is that you can pick two modes that target the same thing (if legal). You still need to have one of each type of permanent listed as a target to be able to put it to the stack though.

@@mehseenbetter No Void Winnower was in play. In fact, they did play the Cratermaker, but they chose to play Warchief as well, thus not having mana to destroy Ugin with the beforementioned Cratermaker.
