Had the Brits never invaded, the various kingdoms would've eventually led to multiple different countries, there would be no such thing as India or Pakistan or anything. And more importantly, let's live in the present, it's been way too many decades since both countries were formed, and hence both have their own individual identities. I'm indian btw, do take that into consideration while responding.
